Reserved a table with the thought of using a groupon that we had purchased however, after seeing the prix fixed menu decided to go that route and save the groupon for another evening. We chose the small filet mignon and the prime rib for entrees and each selected a lettuce wedge and ceasar salad. The mashed cam on both entrees... More

Were told this was the best place in town. I seriously hope not. The room was plesant but not engaging. Our waiter seemed under-trained and ill at ease. The service was slow on an evening where they were not overly busy. The extensive wine list is significantly over priced and they seemed to be out of almost all of the... More

Returned to the 801 Chophouse and had another fabulous meal. I really enjoyed the tossed salad served with a poached egg on top and my scallops were top of the line, prepared perfectly and the fig sauce served alongside and decorating the plate made a beautiful presentation. My husband had the prime rib and he said it was tasty and... More

This is the second time I've been here. This time I had the escargot for an appetizer. It was very good, the snails were extremely tender and the cheese/butter was perfect for dipping my bread in. I then had the 8oz filet with lobster mac n cheese and gnocchi for sides. The steak was perfect accompanied by the béarnaise. The... More

Our group had mixed results on a recent visit. Some meals were very good, others very poor. A message to the corporate office went unreturned. I would hope for more from a premier brand of restaurant.

Anyone can grill a steak, but 11 hour roasted prime rib takes work. They really put the prime I prime rib. Some of the best ever. Great bar, too. Service very attentive. Negatives, kitchen vents out of order leading to smokieness, but worse, I wanted the Grand Marnier soufflé and was told that oven was in use for something else.... More

We had eaten at the 801 in Kansas City so we thought we'd try the one in Omaha. There is no comparison - the one in Omaha is outstanding. Yes, it's pricey, but it was all worth it. We had the shrimp cocktail and we both had the steak specials. We didn't ask how much the specials were and yes,... More

My husband and I went while visiting Omaha because it is the highest rated steakhouse and they have a Groupon. We thoroughly enjoyed our found and everything was excellent, but if you are at all concerned about cost make sure to ask upfront for prices on the specials. We got the lobster bite appetizer that was special for the evening... More

The ChopHouse is located in the Paxton which was built in the early 1900's. It is a great location downtown and has a great atmosphere. The service was excellent. The filets, ribeyes and prime rib were all done to perfection for our entire party. The sides are served family style with yummy selections such as grilled asparagus and garlic mashed... More

This lovely chophouse in the historic Paxton Hotel is everything you hope to find in a top-end steak house in a city known for prime steak. Comfortable, friendly, yet intimate and romantic if you wish. Food is outstanding, staff knows their stuff, always there when you need, yet not if you are simply enjoying. Perfectly prepared drinks at the bar,... More
