Was not sure what to expect given this was a hotel recommendation. The service was top-notch and the food was excellent! I was surprised by the large portions. My mouth is still watering thinking about the hash browns with aged cheddar. The prime rib with the complimentary house seasonings was cooked to perfection. I would definitely go back!

My wife and I married in the Paxton Ballroom that is connected to 801 Chophouse and she surprised me with dinner at 801 before our wedding. We started with a drink at the bar, the beer selection is just OK but they have a great selection of whiskey and scotch. They also have an extensive wine list but I fancy... More

A great filet! Almost melted in your mouth! Sat in the bar area and it was very nice and comfortable for a single to eat. They have booths, tables and the bar that are open seating. There were several TVs as well. Overall would highly recommend!

After last night's caucus, drove to the Chophouse to celebrate. Real quiet due to a blizzard firing up. This is a beautiful restaurant, particularly the bar area. Service is always tag teamed by the staff, and they remember you. Fantastic bartenders are the norm. Split a fresh kale salad with toasted pine nuts, jicama in a wonderful, light blood orange... Beautiful, classic mid-west "woody" decor with attentive service. Food good, not great. Heavy hand with the salt on beef and veggies.

Went late for dinner and no one was in dining room so had the restaurant to ourselves. Great service and steak was good and well prepared. Cheese cake is huge.

Enjoyed dinner here before Thanksgiving with my husband and parents. It was quiet and perfect for folks who like to avoid noisy restaurants. It is excellent food, and features lots of butter :-) Service was noticeably perfect. Portions are huge. Three of us actually split a 12oz filet, but we added on several appetizers, sides, salads, cocktails and dessert. Will... More

Downtown Omaha, in the Paxton. Old world charm in the décor. The rib eye bone in is excellent. There are a number of good sides to go with steak. The soufflé for desert is wonderful, has to be ordered early. The few times I have had dinner, have had excellent servers. Good for pre theater dinner.

My favorite steakhouse in Omaha. And that is saying much, because this town has a bunch of very good ones. The setting, in the old Paxton Hotel, is old school and very comfortable. It is a quiet place, good for business or a romantic evening. All of the food is top notch, especially, of course, the steaks. Seafood is also... More

This is another one of Omaha's great steakhouses although I would argue the best price to value ratio goes to 801 Chophouse. Their food is excellent and their steaks never disappoint, always providing great cuts seasoned perfectly. The service is always as it should be.
