More selection, better value!

Someone mentioned the Heartland Cafe & Bakery as a good Sunday morning breakfast place so we decided to give it a try. They were only offering three items on the menu that morning: a) Breakfast Buffet @ $12.99, b) Eggs Benedict @ $8.99, and c) Pancake & Egg @ $3.50. We didn't want the whole... read more

Food is nasty, out of can flavor. Breakfast buffet was cold. Service poor, and very noisy inside with chairs screeching on floor and conversation is near impossible.

My wife and happened to be in Elkhorn, NE last Saturday and stopped into the Heartland Cafe for a late breakfast. We were a bit shocked at the regular menu prices, especially for a place that didn't quite look like a 5 star joint. Breakfast with coffee would have averaged over $12.00, not including tip. My wife asked for something... More

A HUGE RIP OFF! When seated, we were told coffee and juice was included with the breakfast buffet. We were not shown a menu. When we received our check we were charged $4.38 for the two orange juices. The manager said juice was not included. Our waitress stood there and said she had told us it was included and I... More

Great local place that makes you feel like home. We especially enjoy the Sunday brunch. During warmer months, you can enjoy your meal on the cozy patio area. During the summer, stop by on Thursday night for tacos and live music.

I have had good dinner experiences at other Elkhorn restaurants and this time we tried the Heartland for lunch - it's not open for dinner. Inside it has a comfortable small town feel. The menu selection was larger than I was expecting. I had the meatloaf sandwich and my companion the elk burgher and we were both very satisfied. Definitely... More

This place is perfect for groups of six or four as their table layout most easily accommodates these. If you are planning on larger groups you might want to call ahead and ask or be prepared for a wait. At the height of Sunday brunch, however, our group of Sven really only waited 20 minutes and it was well worth... More

With few breakfast options in the area, we really wanted to like Heartland Cafe. First couple of trips were really good, but the last two visits were not pleasant. The last trip sealed the deal and we won't be back. What did it for me was the quiche. The piece I got was so hot it burned my mouth. Hot... More
