Lovely meal in a very happening atmosphere!

We were staying a short walk from Anchorage downtown and wanted to be able to stroll to and from a restaurant. We selected Ginger based on the Trip Advusor recommendations and were not disappointed. We had a lovely meal and excellent service.

My wife & I were walking around Anchorage as we were waiting to catch a late night flight home. One of our traveling companions mentioned that they were aware of a cute restaurant in downtown Anchorage names Ginger. We found it & had a very pleasant lunch there. No fancy food, but very good. I opted for the Ginger burger... More

I tried this restaurant when I was in downtown Anchorage in July. I like Thai food and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and so was the service. The main dishes were $16-21 which maybe a little high but food in Alaska is more. If you like Thai food, I don't think you would be disappointed.

Ginger has an asian vibe. As an appetizer we ordered crispy pork egg rolls, delicious and perfectly cooked. We then ordered the salmon special and were not disappointed. Portions were good sized and presentation was artful.

Can't say enough good about this restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere, helpful attentive staff from the front door all through dinner. We shared an order of chicken and lettuce wraps unlike any I had ever had, and I've had a lot. The chicken was finely ground with an array of things from onion to a bit of jalapeño. Coconut curry sauce served... More

I had a steak appetizer that was good but not cooked well enough for my friend. Make sure and make that clear. I had a salad also...now I've forgotten the name. It was good. Both my travel partners with the wedge did not eat their whole salad...they were large. No child's menu which was difficult for us because of the... More

This was the first and best meal we had in Anchorage. We started with a tamarind prawn dish and then we both had the special which was a salmon dish. The crumble desert with fireweed ice cream was amazing. Really delicious and innovative food and great service.

We arrived at 5:30 to a nearly empty restaurant. Within 45 minutes every seat was filled. My tuna tower was packed with sushi grade tuna and a bit of avocado. Super! I chose the shrimp and rice noodle bowl which was very large and tasty. Janet had two appetizers - spring rolls which were abundant and excellent and chicken lettuce... More

Other places in town try to offer fine dining but fall far short of accomplishing it. Ginger has very good food. Their drinks are great, nice selection. It's hit or miss with the servers as far as their "fine dining" service goes but your meal will actually be worth what you pay for it. Especially if you save up for... More

My personal favorite among the thriving Anchorage downtown food scene, this cozy restaurant offers amazing food, fantastic service and great drinks. The bartenders are quite talented.
