Perfect Lunch Special - Delicious and Inexpensive

Ginger is a restaurant just a few blocks from the Anchorage Hilton. It is downtown near lots of shops and directly across from the JC Penney Store. I was seated immediately for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the tuna tartare tower, tasted the best martini I've had the pleasure of experiencing yet and the Paloma cocktail has become a favorite. Yum mm mm.. just to breathe in its bouquet - a v evocative cocktail, well balanced, not overly sweet or sour. Well done Ginger. Oh, and guilty pleasure, the Alaskan Baked Sea Scallops "Mac &... Classy bars are scarce in downtown Anchorage, but Ginger pulls the trick off. The atmosphere has an upscale-modern feel to it, but manages to remain cozy and private. The staff was impeccably dressed, and the bartender was convivial and attentive. The most impressive thing about the bar was its wide selection. Ginger has the best wine list I've seen in... More

A-Fusion inspired and sophisticated restaurant like this did not exist in Anchorage 20 years ago, I'm kinda old school but looking to explore since I've moved away. I almost turned around when I walked in but what the heck. The upscale establishment had the "only the beautiful eat here" feel but was quickly squashed by the friendly bartender. Quick service... Sadly we found this restaurant on our last night in Anchorage. I really wish we had found it sooner as it was the first place with decent vegetarian options. Service was very attentive and friendly. Luckily managed to get a seat on a Saturday night without a reservation. I had the strawberry chili for starter which was unusual and very... More

The food and service are impeccable. I almost lost it when I saw the price of my favorite menu item: $21 for Mac and cheese. I couldnt help myself, I had to try it. Thank god I did. Best Macaroni and cheese ever. Well worth the price, especially when you get a huge heaping bowl. (Did I mention it had... More

It's tough to remember that a lot of food in Anchorage simply costs more than what I'm use to at home. The food at Ginger is good and interesting. We ordered four appetizers as a dinner and ordered wine. Everything was fresh, hot, well cooked, and nicely presented. American-friendly Asian food. Service was courteous and attentive. I had been here... More

I hadn't been to this restaurant in awhile and it is nice to see some different items on the menu. I found out that there is a new chef on board now. I was impressed with the filet steak. It was cooked just right. The soup of the day, carrot, was excellent. The wine selection is alright. Interesting assortment of... More
