They were crowded so we were glad we made reservations. Good service. Had the Mariscada, King Salmon, and Prawn Linguini. All very good.

We ate lunch both had the salmon salad-excellent-and the restaurant is light and airy, right in downtown and the service excellent. We came back for dinner and I had risotto and my husband had perfectly moist halibut.

It simply didn't work. Reserved online, anticipated a great meal with friends only to arrive "without a reservation". Turned away without much of an apology or sympathy.

Went here for lunch on a hot Saturday afternoon. Very clean, newly painted feeling - I don't like old, shaggy places - this one had that new, open, bright, relaxing feeling. We were under some time pressure as had to join our tour bus. The lady who waited on us (can't remember the name now after 4 weeks) was very... More

Went at 6on a Sunday evening and it was getting busy. Service was attentive but first staff not too knowledgeable on a couple items; more experience came to the rescue and all went well. We shared a pear salad, which was good. Then two appetizers --crab cakes and salmon tempura --gave us a good variety and enough to eat. Both... More

Sacks was recommended by the concierge at the Captain Cook Hotel when their restaurant was booked with a private party. We were most impressed with the freshness of the seafood, most interesting dishes and variety of the menu. Wait staff was knowledgable and friendly. We think crowded and mildly noisy restaurants signal popularity, so that does not bother us.

The duck confit was excellent . Appetizers were dry and not well prepared. The ambience is very plain and noise level acceptable. Service was good. Nothing memorable.

Sacks' menu changes every day so we shall not annoy you by listing dishes which may not be available by the time you can get to Anchorage for dinner. We will, however, reiterate what other reviewers have said about creativity at Sacks. It works here. Every place in town offers king crab legs. Crab legs are cooked when caught so... More

My wife and I are vegetarians and had two wonderful dishes. Unique flavors and pleasant atmosphere. Cost with tip $46 (we didn't order drinks). Dishes ordered: Alaska sea scallops and chicken (substituted tofu for meat), pear salad and Mediterranean Soup.

One of my favorite places in downtown Anchorage. Recommended dishes: - 4 Stars: Fresh Alaska halibut, pan seared, coated with pesto and pistachio, purple yam, carrots, tomatoes, spicy marinara sauce: I love the succulent texture of the fish filet. It is prefectly prepared, not a bit overcooked. - 4 Stars: Warm apple spiced cake with caramel: Moist cake, delicious flavor,... More
