The Red Alaskan king crab legs were perfect and cut in half for easy eating. The filet mignon was prepared perfectly too. Nice bottle of affordable California Cabernet Sauvignon was the year it was listed on the wine list. Very nice homemade espresso hazelnut ice cream for dessert. Beautiful local artist paintings on the wall. We especially enjoyed the service.... More

Apparently Sunday is a day of rest for some of the higher rated restaurants in town as our first two choices for Sunday dinner were closed. We were, however, very satisfied with the food, drink and service at Sack's. The locally brewed Sockeye IPA was excellent; crisp, clean, and hoppy. The tomato Gorgonzola soup was just like my mother made.... More

While most of the restaurants in this city seem to be chains or pizza places, we enjoyed a delicious lunch here.

Tomato Gorgonzola soup. Good but needed a little salt. Lemon pot de creme for desert was very good. The veggie sandwich on baguette was actually on a soft sub roll. It t was not as good as the avacado sandwich. The veggie chili was tasty.

we liked the food, the location was a bit noisy, but it was on a saturday evening, so ... service was gentle , the place was clean. To be repeated.

We spent 3 nights in Anchorage and our best meal was at Sacks cafe, we loved that the fish was cooked correctly (and not overcooked). The place is small and well known by the locals so it is a good idea to make a reservation. The wine selection is good and pleasant.

Sacks Cafe is a small and charming restaurant which serves delicious, fresh seafood. We shared an excellent appetizer of king salmon tempura roll, and enjoyed the king salmon and halibut entrees, followed by a tasty dessert. The wine list was excellent. Our server was helpful and engaging. Sacks Cafe should be a destination when you visit Anchorage.

I had the Mariscada. It's a shrimp, halibut, salmon, clam, scallop delight bathed in a deliciously spiced sauce and fragrant jasmine rice topped with basil shreds and watercress microgreens. They really know how to manage flavors.

We wanted fresh unadulterated Alaskan seafood in an elegant ambience. Their menu only had jambalaya (with too many non-seafood ingredients), or salmon tacos. For our one splurge seafood meal, this wasn’t the place for us. It was really noisy too, so we left and didn’t actually eat there.

There are not may restaurants inn Anchorage that can accomodate a group of 13 but Sacks Cafe was up for the challenge. They have a great menu selection with more than just seafood and a wide variety of local beers. This is not an inexpensive place to eat but the quality of food, the plate presentation and the service was... More
