I love this restaurant . If I lived anywhere near here , I would eat here ever month . The Bacon and Apple salad with lavender maple honey . The Pork Tenderloin with chorizo polenta . It sounds fussy, but it is just the work of creative people who love food . Nice room and friendly wait staff. What more... More

Seven of us recently were here for Sunday brunch (ages 3 - 83). The staff is normally very attentive and although this was an extremely busy day, they did not disappoint. Our food, everything from berry waffles to poached eggs over shrimp & scallop cakes, eggs & reindeer sausage, etc.... Our drinks ranged from Orange Juice to Latte's and Mimosas.... More

I live in Anchorage and don't get to Sacks as often as I would like. Compared to other places, it is a small, intimate setting but attractive. Sacks is known for good food and original recipes and presentation. Since the large hotels have stopped serving Sunday brunch, you have to look hard to find a place where you know brunch... More

I was wandering around the city of Anchorage in a cold drizzle. I came upon Sack's and it looked like a cozy place to warm up and grab a bite. This place is small and comfortable, with 2-person "high top" seating in the bar portion and table seating in the dining room for larger groups. The staff was friendly and... More

This is an excellent restaurant. Every time I come to Anchorage I make sure I go here. The pear salad is incredible (and I'm not a salad guy). The soups are also outstanding. I usually have the halibut or the medallions. The service matches the food.

Sack's Cafe changed their chef in early 2012 and the food quality has just not been the same since. It used to be my favorite place in Anchorage but I don't even go anymore because the quality went downhill while the prices stayed the same.

My husband and I made the mistake of not making a reservation before seeing a show a few months ago. We popped into Sacks hoping they could accommodate us after striking out at several other downtown restaurants. We were pleased to find a reservation had just been cancelled so we walked in and were seated almost immediately even though the... More

Was happy with the service and ambience, but I feel like the food could have been executed better. I had pork tenderloin with polenta. The polenta was awesome, but my pork was overcooked. I am a fan of medium rare to medium, but I got well done. Have to say that they didn't ask me how I wanted my pork... More

While spending time in downtown Anchorage, we took time for lunch at Sack's. It had been recommented by more than one person. The restaurant is attractive and inviting. The walls display art from the gallery next door. The wait staff is friendly and informative. The food is excellent. I had the crab cakes. My friend had the fish tacos. We... More

On such a long vacation, after eating at so many different restaurants, and it being the busy tourist season, we sorta started to lower our expectations a bit. It was nothing against any of the previous meals we had, but after eating at many hyped up places and then being cruelly disappointed, we decided it was easier, or less of... More
