we were expecting a rather standard fare restaurant, but the quality of food was much higher than we expected. our waitress was great with recommendations and service. the fish was very well prepared. everything was really enjoyable. they even had good vegetarian options. would definitely go back if we're in anchorage again!

We went to this place as really popular on trip advisor and as I trust all the reviewers we had an amazing meal! Staff was great and the food was amazing! Highly suggest the calamari as they were the freshest I had in my life! Also the ossobuco and crab cakes were delicious. If you are I anchorage is a... More

Went here on a recommendation from a local. I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was very good, We started off with the calamari. It was fresh and not over cooked. No red sauce but was excellent. My wife had the lemon chicken panzanella salad. It was very good. I had the Orso chicken parm. It was excellent and prepared well.... More

We came here for dinner on our 1 night stopover before travelling on to Denali. We shared crabcakes as an appetizer and enjoyed 2 delicious main courses (a cod dish and a salmon dish). The portions were the correct size for us - enough to be enjoyable but not overwhelming, so we had room for a dessert each. We shared... More

End of a blissful 13 days in Alaska! The good - loved the service, nice atmosphere, good food, large portions! The bad- ran out of crab fingers (bummer), fish and chips a bit too fried. In summary- if you like med food, go here, little pricey but worth it.

We ate at Orso tonight, our last night in Alaska after a 2 week visit. We all agreed the grilled salmon was the best we had the entire trip. In addition, even though the restaurant was extremely busy, the staff easily accommodated the vegan in our group by adapting a dish on the gluten-free/vegetarian menu to her dietary requirements (grilled... My favorite cousin took me to ORSO, an Anchorage restaurant I have long heard about, and was anxious to experience. The evening topped off a busy week in ANC, and was one of the most memorable dinners I have ever had. The company was wonderful, the food was terrific! Seafood Chowder was thick and yummy..... Lamb Shank Osso Bucco was... More

Not our first choice on our one night in Anchorage, but with so many people ending cruise vacations here it had available seating in the bar. Turned out fine. Ordered off the bar menu - could have had full menu - and shared very good fish and chips and a salad. Great desserts, too. Bar drinks were standard fare. Enjoyable... More

We chose Orso because we had some business to discuss and it is one of the quieter places to eat. Long story short, the food was good, the service was just alright, but the atmosphere was conducive to finishing our business. This has been my experience the last couple times we have been here. Note that I do go back,... More
