I like the fact that I walk into a Sushi place and immediately see a full house both locals. Service was good, but the 2 girls were running around trying to keep up with everything. The Gyoza is made fresh each day, and tasted really good. Portions were pretty good size. Wife had seaweed salad and said it was good,... More

My husband and I ate dinner here on the 4th of July. The portions were huge! After reading a review that the sushi was expensive for the size, I was pleasantly surprised. I have never had rolls that big before. We ordered way too much food for the two of us. We ordered the king salmon box dinner, the gyoza,... More

Tried the King Crab leg. Not as even close to the Ray's restaurant in Seward. Seems over cocked and hard to chew. Not very fresh either. Not recommended. Over priced.

There were four adults and three toddlers in out party. Needless to say our babes made a HUGE mess. We tried to clean up all the rice but the wait staff wouldn't hear of it. They were so friendly and accommodating. We did leave a 25% tip to pay for the "damages." Food was very good.

Not an elegant dining room but friendly staff, homely atmosphere and most importantly excellent food. The choices are many and all look good. The combination plate C5 I had was all fantastic. I will be back for more of a really good eating experience.

I live in New York, so I am used to expensive food, but Kumagoro is out of control! Shouldn't fish be cheaper in Alaska? (The answer is, I haven't found any cheap fish in Anchorage...). One of the lunch specials is $18...and at least one roll is more than $20...The entrees go up from there! I thought it must be... More

I grew up in places like Texas and Kentucky, now retired in Alaska and finding out that fish is fresh here. i developed a fish snob attitude ever since i started eating at Kumagoro. Now, mind you they aren't that way here, in fact the owner was rolling my tuna and was very kind and open. i just mean my... More

We had lunch here on a rainy afternoon. The servers were prompt and made good suggestions, since they could tell we were new to their menu. We shared the miso soup which really hit the spot. We liked the shrimp yakisoba which was full of shrimp and vegies, perfectly stir fried. We also had the shrimp tempura which included a... More

We were not sure about this small restaurant almost in front of the Visitor center. What a nice surprise. Excellent sushi, nice ambiance and the owner sushi chef took care of us right at the sushi bar, as we went in about 4:PM and the rush hour was gone. The quality and freshness of the tuna, salmon was better than... More

The sashimi and sushi were pretty good, but not very creative maki. There seemed to be lots of choices of other entrees that were authentic, but we were wanting sushi, and that selection seemed limited. Service was very average and certainly not attentive. There were not any really good options for children except for a chicken teriyaki plate. The gyoza... More
