Fressen is great! I took my dad and boyfriend here for dinner (my dad LOVES German food), and everyone's meal was a hit. My bratwurst was flavorful, the sauerkraut was delicious, and the boys' jaegerschnitzel was heavenly. Looking forward to next time!

Wednesday at 5 p.m. On a Friday evening. Place was dark. Call the phone number written on the window. No answer. Would have liked to have tried the place. Maybe we'll give it one more chance.

I ate dinner here on a Saturday night. We arrived at about 5:30, an hour after they opened, and were seated immediately. This is a small place with seating for no more than 20 people so there wasn't much choice in tables. On a Saturday night at dinner time, there was only one waitress and she was busy, too busy.... My husband went here the other night. It was good, but not the best we've had. I had jaeger schnitzel, and the mushroom sauce was excellent, the pork tenderloin cooked perfectly. My husbands Wiener schnitzel was a little chewy, not melt in your mouth tender like veal should be. The restaurant is pleasant, the one server very nice, and yes,... More

The reviews of others to this date seem to be spot on. We are a pair of seniors who went there with our son and his wife. We were on our way later to a show at the PAC. We arrived around 6PM on a Saturday and were finished in time to attend the show. The smallish dining room was... More

A tiny place with only one pleasant but harried server. Every table was taken, the food was slow coming out but no complaints because this was home cooked made to order REAL German pig out fare (aside from the jalepeno in one menu item). Small menu, but I have no issue with that because the few dishes they offer are... More

There aren't many choices here. I went a month or so after they opened. The food they made was good. Not as good as homemade, but close. They do make it to order though, which means it takes a while to serve you but they mention that up front.

My husband had the veal and I had jagerschnitzel (sp?). Both were very, very good. We definitely will go back! Great value, too. Atmosphere is somewhat austere, but that's the only criticism.

My German great-grandmother used to admonish family members "Don't fress," meaning, "Don't eat like an animal," or "Don't gorge yourself." At Anchorage's only German restaurant, it's worth taking the time to savor every bite of the meal, whether you finish it all at once or take some home. This tiny place has terrific food! The menu is small, with two... More

Service was good, dropped in on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised. One of my favorite things to eat when I was stationed in Berlin was jäger schnitzel. I haven't found anything close...until today. Very good! Parking is very limited parallel street side. I arrived around 6:30pm on a Thursday, before tourist season is in full swing. Seating is very... More
