Halibut plate was good

Had halibut fish and chips, fish was good. Also had a hamburger, it was okay, fries a little greasy, not my favorite, but fish yummy. Service good, mom and pop restaurant.

Locals top spot for halibut lunch. Batter halibut or halibut sandwich. Kind of a hole in the wall lunch spot. Lunch counter and a few table. Close to the center of downtown Anchorage. One of town's high volume halibut location despite their small size.

Had breakfast in this local's restaurant. Reindeer sausage specialty. Been open since 1959 so you know its got to be good! Staff was helpful and located downtown Anchorage.

We stopped by on our trip up to Fairbanks and WOW! It was by far the best halibut sandwich we have ever had! Five of us ordered the halibut sandwiches with either fries or slaw and we all said the same thing, it was amazing!!! We sat at the counter and watched them batter the fish and fry it fresh... More

This little cafe really fills up about noon, and the reason is excellent food. It's a cafe with stools, booths and cafe tables. They aren't particularly fast, but they turn out what may well be the best sandwiches you're going to find anywhere in Anchorage. You can get Alaskan Amber to go with your sandwiches, and you'll leave very satisfied... More

I've been going to The White Spot Cafe since I was a child and it's never failed to be about the tastiest place in town. The ambience isn't much but the people are incredible, the conversation is fantastic and the food is amazing. It's a great little place for a good burger, hand made fries, and the halibut, oh the... This little cafe on 4th Ave in Anchorage serves a delicious halibut sandwich. It is a very busy location especially around noon. Go in relatively early to make sure you get the halibut. They do run out of fish! Delicious!!!!

We chose The White Spot Cafe for breakfast based on Yelp reviews and it happened to be walking distance from our hotel. The Chicken Fried Steak (with eggs) and gravy were very good! I should warn though that this is not a traditional CFS (ie. steak fried in similar fashion as fried chicken). The steak was coated and fried in... More

The White Spot is a great Anchorage tradition, a great breakfast and the best halibut sandwich in the known universe. Tom, his kids and staff do a great job of making everybody feel like a local and perform magic with halibut. Don't pass it by go inside and enjoy.

So.. meandering around a city where I expected to see Alaskan seafood everywhere.. this did not happen. Super-duper hungry and wanted a burger more than I wanted to take another breath. Pulled this up on my phone and actually passed it by.. almost went into a more 'trendy' place. Oh. Thank. Goodness. This was literally the best cheeseburger & fries... More
