Enjoyed our breakfast

We chose The White Spot Cafe for breakfast based on Yelp reviews and it happened to be walking distance from our hotel. The Chicken Fried Steak (with eggs) and gravy were very good! I should warn though that this is not a traditional CFS (ie. steak fried in similar fashion as fried chicken). The... read more

This little cafe on 4th Ave in Anchorage serves a delicious halibut sandwich. It is a very busy location especially around noon. Go in relatively early to make sure you get the halibut. They do run out of fish! Delicious!!!!

The White Spot is a great Anchorage tradition, a great breakfast and the best halibut sandwich in the known universe. Tom, his kids and staff do a great job of making everybody feel like a local and perform magic with halibut. Don't pass it by go inside and enjoy.

So.. meandering around a city where I expected to see Alaskan seafood everywhere.. this did not happen. Super-duper hungry and wanted a burger more than I wanted to take another breath. Pulled this up on my phone and actually passed it by.. almost went into a more 'trendy' place. Oh. Thank. Goodness. This was literally the best cheeseburger & fries... More

just your average good basic breakfast, no complaints, maybe better service. Hash browns are crispy cut up french fries but they are good, nothing much special just a good basic eats. price average for Anchorage. They don't take cards but have atm in the restaurant. 9:00 a.m. on a saturday morning and no crowd.

Regular user when stationed over here 2006-9 and revisited when back on vacation. Just as good as I remembered. This place is not fine dining but is good value, honest diner food that will keep you fuelled for hours. I've travelled all over the world. This place serves my favourite breakfast of anywhere I've been...

I've been here for 6 years and have always wanted to try the White Spot. My husband and I went in one morning and after we left, we decided that we will never come back. The food was decent, place was clean but we felt like the server was not happy about serving us, I think she had a problem... More

What a perfect Anchorage atmosphere! The halibut is to die for. Service was like throw-back to the 70s. Verbal bills and cash only. Best lunch in Anchorage!

The White Spot has been in Anchorage forever, and it's still great. Every burger comes with fries, which is nice, because their fries are incredible. The burgers are made fresh, and if you order a bacon burger (my usual fare), they fry the bacon fresh, so it's hot and crispy. We used to enjoy the surly owner (example: My friend... More

One of the best Halibut Sandwiches that I have ever had. Service is not the best but the food is great.
