my son, who is living in Anchorage now, took us here -- its a small place with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere--- the fried halibut sandwich was great-- just a simple sandwich-- with great fish..service seemed ok-- prices good-- didnt try any of the other items on the menu....check it out though-- its worth it

The white spot is an institution in Anchorage and the breakfast is very good. We got a table right away, but were quickly forgotten by the waitress and she seated other people and took their orders. Eventually, we sat with hot food in front us, but with no utensils, while she stopped and chatted with people at the bar -... More

This is a very plain, small restaurant a fair walk from the crowded tourist restaurants, and on this July morning everyone in the place but us seemed to be a regular. The coffee is weak but the service was good and the food was better than the appearance of the place promised. The reindeer (we are told it's caribou) sausage... More

This place was just average. Service was o.k. I had to ask for a second cup of coffee because the one waitress was busy doing dishes. No automatic dishwasher. Food was pricey for what you got. Don't make a special trip to eat here. I don't think I would go back.

Yes it is a small place but usually these greasy spoons are! Sat at a comfy booth. Pancakes were fluffy and delish. French toast a bit bland. Cook takes your order. You actually shout it to him from wherever you are sitting. If you want a fancy place don't go here. It was good, but a bit overpriced for the... More

Good food, somewhat friendly staff, but... small portions, zero atmosphere, and way overpriced - even for AK standards. Two of us had the halibut - extremely tiny portion, the third of us had the 'fish n chips' - slightly larger portion of cod but not worth $16... and that was the 'special'

I was there for lunch and had the Halibut Plate. The fish was cooked to perfection, the fries are hand-cut fresh, & the cole slaw is delicious. If you sit on a stool at the counter you can watch your food being prepared. This is a very small, no-frills diner in downtown Anchorage. The Halibut Platter, while expensive (like all... More

Service was good and fast. Food ok. Average $18.00 per person. It was good for people wanted to have a quick lunch or dinner.

The Snow City Cafe may be hipper and a tiny bit more conveniently located but is it really worth waiting over an hour for when you can walk into the White Spot Cafe and get an excellent breakfast or lunch for less money? Almost certainly not. Plus, the corned beef hash is made on-site and is very good. No espresso... More

Had he biscuits. Very tasty. This is a quaint little restaurant...small in size...kind of a hole in the wall no frills place. But I would go again. Remember to take cash - no credit cards accepted! Friendly service.
