What a perfect Anchorage atmosphere! The halibut is to die for. Service was like throw-back to the 70s. Verbal bills and cash only. Best lunch in Anchorage!

The White Spot has been in Anchorage forever, and it's still great. Every burger comes with fries, which is nice, because their fries are incredible. The burgers are made fresh, and if you order a bacon burger (my usual fare), they fry the bacon fresh, so it's hot and crispy. We used to enjoy the surly owner (example: My friend... More

One of the best Halibut Sandwiches that I have ever had. Service is not the best but the food is great.

The White Spot is for locals. It's a small, old diner with a lot of formica and a big grill. The locals come to get their cup of coffee and shoot the doodoo. The cook is slightly grumpy but he'll make you a heck of a breakfast that's an outstanding value if compared with prices throughout summer Anchorage. My favorite... More

Ok sounds pretty dumb, but we live here and have never made it down to the white spot. Stopped in for breakfast yesterday and I'll be back. Great biscuits and gravy, pepper, sausage bits and nice biscuits, not hockey pucks. The bacon was cooked to order and pretty good. I had a blueberry pancake, delicious, and thick and fluffy. Very... If you love seriously local food, nothing cutesy or fancy, just a really good breakfast, this is the place for you! Best mushroom omelet I have EVER had! Best pancake ever! Yes,a single pancake that TOTALY covered my entire plate. I would honestly go all the way from Chicago back to Anchorage just to have breakfast there again. Don't miss this one!

Okay, this is not a 5-star place. More like 2 or 3 at best. But the fish sandwich is out of this world and I wanted to draw attention to it with 5 stars. It was recommended by a friend who visited many years ago. I am in his debt. The fried halibut sandwich is truly a thing a of... More

The white spot is an institution in Anchorage and the breakfast is very good. We got a table right away, but were quickly forgotten by the waitress and she seated other people and took their orders. Eventually, we sat with hot food in front us, but with no utensils, while she stopped and chatted with people at the bar -... More

This is a very plain, small restaurant a fair walk from the crowded tourist restaurants, and on this July morning everyone in the place but us seemed to be a regular. The coffee is weak but the service was good and the food was better than the appearance of the place promised. The reindeer (we are told it's caribou) sausage... More
