Delicious and Reliably Well-Spiced Food

I've eaten at Yak and Yeti about 20 times (the restaurant, not the cafe which isn't as good). I've never been disappointed with the food, and I've eaten or tasted pretty much everything on the menu. It's a small restaurant and service is casual and pleasant. I always leave happy. I especially... read more

Had curry chicken. Just curry sauce with small pieces of cut up Cornish hen with the bone still in. The sauce was ok but spent most of the time picking bones out to make sure I didn't choke. If had been deboned with some onions and peas in it could have been much better. Good fast friendly service

Great food. The inside is way better than the outside. Try it! If you like Nepali food, curries etc, [I DO], you will not be disappointed.

Anchorage has a good amount of great restaurants, but if you want some different flavors check out the Yak and Yeti. They serve Indian and Tibetan dishes. It may be hard to find and parking can be an issue it offers some great alternatives to the usual fare available in Anchorage. I visit Anchorage occasionally and this is one of... More

We had the pork vindaloo wrap and the garbanzo bean with pork in the rice bowl . The spices are delicious. We were very pleasantly surprised as this is the strip mall and REI is right up the way....not expecting anything great. It is a very good bargain and quite tasty. The vindaloo could be a bit more spicy but... More

This little place has big flavors! We had the tandoori mushrooms and Samosas followed by the lamb and ground beef dish. Also had garlic nann. All was delicious and the prices are small. It is by on too.

If you want a place to entertain a small group, this is it: they have a “banquet room” in the back room. The minimally decorated room was great for our family: a full range of elders, middle aged, young adults and very active smaller kids. The service was very fast (thank God with active kids). And that was about it.... More

Great little place. Menu is small, but what is on it is good. Good curries (including goat - it was good, but I prefer their lamb). I primarily come here for the Himalayan food, especially the Kalimpong Shapta. Food can be ordered mild to burn your eye-brows off spicy. Excellent selection of vegetarian food as well.

I tried the tingmo (dumpling) that comes with house spicy sauce and mint chutney, and the tika masala chicken with raita. The house sauce is a mix of soy sauce and a hot sauce that actually has a surprising kick. The tingmo were good with the mint chutney, but I wasn't a fan of the house sauce. (Flavour reasons, not... Quite a change from the usual vegetarian Alaskan fare (if that is a thing) that we'd come to expect on our 10-day trip. The menu, just like everything else at the place, is non-elaborate, and more function over form. But if you're looking for good Indian-ish food in a decent setting, find your way here. Distinctly remember the Tingmo (Tibetan... More
