Disappointed

This isn't Cajun food at all. My friend ordered a "Cajun Burger" and all she got was a burnt patty with old lettuce, tomato, and onion and stale bread. There penne Marina was just tomato sauce and cooked noodles. The place is over priced for the bad quality of food that they serve.

We stopped by here the last time we were in Seattle (about 3 years ago) and should have written a review then. Well you should really stop here. It is walking from Pike's market. It is super reasonable and very good. Now I gave it 5 stars based on a diner type place. It is not fancy. We got Gumbo,... More

This was a nice break from shopping near Pike's Place Market. I ordered the Combo #1 - red beans & rice and a salad. This came with a corn muffin which calmed down the spicy beans. The bowl of beans was a good size and I will stop here again if I make it back to Seattle. The owner was... More

Like another reviewer I struggle to see how this place has got some of the reviews posted here. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food on a recent visit. All three of us left with the same opinion and we all had different meals. We will not be going back.

My husband and I were walking around in the Pike area of Seattle and stumbled on this place. After browsing the menu we decided to give it a try. We sat at an outside table because it was a very nice day. I had a vegetarian jambalaya and he had jambalaya with sausage, etc. We had a side of fried... More

I first discovered this place while killing time at Pike Place Market. We'd delivered members of Whitworth Universities Choir who were in town for their annual Christmas performances at the First Presbyterian Church. I drove one of three tour buses and on the final day of our visit we dropped the group off for a brief visit to Seattle's famous... More

We went as a family together friend's family. We ordered a combination of jambalaya and gumbo dishes - dishes were also served with corn bread. The food was quite good although the corn bread was not as fresh I would liked them. That said, I thought the deco was a little disappointing - no feeling of being in the bayou... More

My spouse and I had a late breakfast on Monday, Sept 9 at Bayou on 1st. Basically, we had been wandering around in Pike Place Market for the morning and wanted a break for a light (not heavy) breakfast/lunch. As vegetarians, it sometimes gets a bit hard (we generally pass by those restaurants that only offer us salads). We ordered... More

I do not understand some of these reviews. Its located near the Pike Place Market, and there are a ton of good places to eat at or near the Market. This IS NOT one of them!! I'm amazed at the other reviews, unless there has been a change in ownership. We live about 3 blocks from this place, and liking... More

We don’t get many opportunities to eat Cajun food, so when my wife spotted the sign, she insisted we eat here. I am not an expert on Cajun food, but have eaten in many great restaurants in New Orleans. I don’t know about the rest of the food at Bayou on 1st, but can tell you the chicken gumbo was... More
