Larsen's Bakery is a Seattle fixture.....It did take a few extra minutes to get a drip coffee, appeared they had to brew a new pot, This is Seattle, they should have coffee drinking fountains, coffee on the ready at all times...LOL I digress, one enters the bakery and the smells, and sights of wonderful baked goods is almost overwhelming.... Soooo... More

We just moved from West Seattle to Ballard so we were missing Bakery Nouvea. We decided to give Larsen's a try. They are in the midst of a remodel so things were very cramped. I also went in on May 17th so it was busy, as expected. That said, there were still plenty of people there to help. All of... More

Right in Ballard is an old fashion bakery that is getting a makeover.....so stop here soon if you want to see the "original" part. There were many delicious items to chose from and I can recommend the cheese Danish and the pecan sticky buns. With a up of coffee, this was our breakfast of choice today and it was a... More

This bakery is just up the road from where my grandparent's lived and I grew up with occasional treats from here (and cardamom rolls at every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner). If we have time to stop by when we are in Seattle we usually grab a 1/2 price day old item from the rack by the door, then get lots... More

Nice bakery, bright clean friendly busy envirinment. Pasteries and breads will actually make you lust and drool. Best bread and cinnamon buns and scones I've had in a very long while. Prices are reasonable too!

Our first stop at Larsen's netted us a large "Kringle", a custardy Danish that serves maybe six or four hungry folks. Not too sweet, but very moist. We also picked up two bags of fresh lefsa. Lefsa, if you've never had it before it like a tortilla, only made out of potatoes, butter and flour... rolled very thin. We like... More

This is the last of the true Scandinavian Bakeries in Seattle. Amazing foods and cakes. They still make a great marzipan cake here.

Your trip to Seattle is not complete unless you get the Kringle from Larsen's. Enough said. Now go. You can thank me later.

Larsen's is a great bakery that has all of the standard offerings as well as truly Scandinavian treats as well. So much to choose from and they do not scrimp on size as many bakeries do today. Family owned, quality goods and a friendly staff make this a must stop when you get the urge for some sweet.

We came for some of the Kringles and left with a bunch of yummy looking treats. Wow, can't wait to go back. You can buy the basic (almond?) Kringle's in the red boxes all over town and those come sealed in plastic, which is good for short-term storage, but at the bakery they don't come in plastic and they have... More
