Some really good dishes

We ate lunch in the Tamarind Tree and enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner. We had their Tamarind Tree spring rolls both times--excellent with a nice dipping sauce. Other dishes of note were the shrimp patty noodles, chili lemon grass beef, and grilled eggplant. We also enjoyed the steamed... read more

The restaurant was highly recommended to me by my boss. The proximity of the restaurant to my office, along with the high praise, made the difficult choice of choosing among dozens of restaurants, in the International District, a lot easier. My guest and I both enjoyed the Bún thịt gà nướng (Skewered grilled chicken, noodles, and salad), which was served... More

So, it looks like the back parking lot of a small strip mall when you arrive, but don't let that keep you from entering and trying Tamarind Tree. It's yummy, interesting Vietnamese Food. The tamarind martini has tamarind in it, and is an acquired taste indeed. The appetizers and main courses are really great and interesting. The owners recently opened... More

Everything I tasted was out of this world. Diamond in the rough of international district. Go. You will thank me.

The decor is very nice and overall the food is very good for the price that you pay. It is different in the sense that unlike more traditional vietnamese cuisines in the US (that I have been to), this place has some unique dishes that I have not found anywhere else which are inventive and tasty.

Don't let the weird location and terrible parking lot deter you from coming because the food is fine and the ambiance is good once you get in the door. This is a lot more than a pho place. There are lots of different Vietnamese dishes to choose from and they all look good. Their wonderful herbs and veges make their... More

I have been to this place at least a half dozen times for lunch and dinner...I don't get it. Reading the amazing reviews, I must have hit all of the "off" days. The fresh rolls are the rice paper wrap, more rice noodles, one shrimp a deep fried stick of some kind and lettuce at the top, so mostly rice,... More

Been here twice and food has always been exceptional. One of the nicest Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. You wouldn't know if from the outside but once you walk in, the atmosphere is lovely. I see a lot of Vietnamese restaurants who try to be "fancy" and give you small portions and even stray from the OG of Vietnamese food,... More

A chef friend of mine turned us on to The Tamarind Tree in Seattle. The food is provincial Vietnamese and it is amazing!!! Looks can be deceiving. When you first drive up to their location you think "OMG" you have got to be kidding. They are located at the back corner next in an Asian business complex complete with grocers... More

Didn't have much experience with Vietnamese food, so was a little unsure of what to order. This place was amazing. Better than a majority of Asian restaurants I've been to. The restaurant was a little difficult to find, but this hidden gem was amazing and unexpected. The ambiance was intimate and prefect for a date night. The food was even... More
