Step out of the rain into France

There are a few good French bakeries in Seattle. Some of them are quite good. None of them is as good as Bakery Nouveau. William Leaman won the 2005 Coupe du Monde de Boulangerie (World Cup of Baking) and he continues to share his talent with the people of Seattle. Now with a second shop at... read more

Excellent bakery with VERY limited seating. It is often crowded, especially on weekends. Almost everything I've tried has been good. Although the West Seattle Cresssaunt, a ham, cheese, egg cressaunt was a bit to buttery/oily to be good. Haven't tried the lunches but they look good. They also have coffee & espresso drinks.

Anytime we're close to South Seattle we stop here at the West Seattle location on California street. To die for croissants. Also one of only bakeries where you can buy fougasse...an olive version of this special bread that needs several days to make.

We're always looking for a bakery whenever we visit a new place. The macarons were fabulous and the twice baked chocolate scones will make me happy to wake up in the morning. The girl who helped us was so wonderful I wish I had gotten her name! We'll be back on our next trip!

I read reviews about the twice baked almond croissants and had to try them myself. They are epically delicious! So flaky on the outside and then filled with delicious almond paste. it is a toss up between the almond croissant and the twice baked chocolate. How can you really go wrong with either? when my family want to surprise me... More

I have stopped twice for a quick lunch twice at the Capitol Hill venue of Bakery Nouveau and I found it a real treat! The filled croissants are simply delicious and so fragrant... The space is pretty tight and it tends to get a bit shabby at the tables with the turnover of clients... and not ideal for sharing a... More

I am actually writing about their Capitol Hill location since that is the only one I go to. I have been here many times to get pastry or pizza. Their twice baked almond croissants can't be matched anyplace. I also love their pizzas among other things. Their employees are also very friendly and helpful. They also donate left over pastries... Pastries like none other in a small shop on California Ave in the heart of the old West Seattle Junction being engulfed by huge developments eating it up gulp by gulp. So visit soon for specialties concocted by a European award winning chef and owner (the huge silver trophy cup is on display). Twice Baked Croissants will take you to... More

I kid you not, we have found pastry perfection right in West Seattle. Best croissants in the entire state, maybe best on the planet. Get them to go and sit on Alki Beach to watch the sunset. Very romantic and delicious.

My favorite bakery in Seattle and my favorite location of the Nouveau's. It's charming, stylish and popular for a reason - the baked goods are fantastic. Beyond croissants, there are all sorts of delicious European treats: traditional thick, chewy slabs of pizza; cookies, deserts and insanely delicious breads (try the olive bread that's twisted into a pretzel shape; they also...
