Description: We are a downtown gathering place, where soul-satisfying foods radiate...
We are a downtown gathering place, where soul-satisfying foods radiate with the intense flavors of seasonal ingredients from our favorite local farmers and producers. Executive chef, Craig Hetherington, can make tomato soup with griddled cheese sandwich seem just as refined as his Dungeness crab tagliatelle. Pastry chef Will Fausser explores variations on classic desserts such as Theo chocolate cake with marshmallow topping and graham cracker ice cream and milk and cookies. A choice of large or small plates makes exploring and sharing the menu a breeze. Our wines come exclusively from the Northwest and are priced to purchase by the glass or bottle. Our beers are also brewed here in the Northwest. We are located at the Seattle Art Museum, which is a block away from the main entrance of Pike Place Market and a short walk from the downtown shopping district.

I can't remember the last time I walked out of a restaurant, yet yesterday that is what we did at Taste. We had purchased an Amazon local deal for the Seattle Art Museum that included an invitation to visit their restaurant for free frites after the gallery. We entered to a chaotic restaurant where a customer guided us to the... More

Taste Restaurant is a hidden treasure. Seattle is full of "good" eateries, this place is fantastic. The food was well prepared and artfully plated. Each morsel was multidimensional, unique, a real treat for the palate. The Chef and Sous Chef are truly gifted! There is a wonderful selection of items to choose from in all price ranges. The staff went... More

Taste ok, I had the croque Monsieur. Basically a grilled ham & cheese, I wasn't expecting Paris, but this was bland. As was the tomatoe soup. Delicious pickle though. Had rubarb pie for desert, very flavorful, nice almond crust! Among entrees Our group had several fava beans w pasta and micro greens in broth, no spoon provided: 3 mini bites... More

Ate there last month on a Saturday around 1230pm. The restaurant was packed at first. After waiting 25 min for a table, the waiter was too busy to get our drink orders. After finally ordering the food, it took another 30-35 min for some burger, fries, kids chicken finger. The chicken finger had absolutely NO taste, not even salt. The... More

I've had lunch here numerous times, and although one should not be in a hurry, it is consistently good. Not long ago we had a group show in the Art Museum so met here for dinner before with a couple options. All were very good, albeit quite expensive. The other night we came here after a gallery opening (best to... More

I was photographing the permanent collections of the Seattle Art Museum and decided to take a break and have a bite to eat. I'd seen their associated restaurant on the street level when i entered the museum so headed downstairs about 12:45 p.m. The dining room was packed with patrons and I was told there would be about a 20... One of the best places to go for lunch or brunch in Seattle, period. The kitchen does things that are absolutely spot-on. Creative menu items, but THE BEST Reuben outside of New York City. The wait staff is as good as it gets - well trained, thoughtful and helpful. On the very rare occasion that they don't know an ingredient... More

" Taste" is a great restaurant that can stand on its own merit, but being a part of SAM ( Seattle Art Museum) makes it a fabulous experience. Great food, service, and ambience, plus a fun bar. This is a destination restaurant even when the museum is closed.

Nice, but noisy, restaurant in the Seattle Art Museum. As museum restaurants go, this is most pleasant, and one would have to travel to MOMA in New York or Tate Gallery in London to find something better. That is to say, it is a well-thought-out, but not gourmet menu, well presented, and reasonably priced. I had a shrimp salad with... More
