Excellent service, very good food and excellent location

What a great dining experience. I thought maybe they mistook us for some VIP. The service was that good. Not to mention the food was delicious. The tomato appetizer was delicious. The octopus was tender and tasty. My wife's gnocchi was amazing and my wine sauce pasta with heirloom tomatoes and clams was so fresh and enjoyable. The lemon doughnuts... More

The setup was cool - we were fine sitting at the communal table even though we were right next to the kitchen and it was incredibly hot. The restaurant was incredibly loud...so loud that you could not hear the person next to you or across from you. It was so loud the waiter could not hear what we were ordering.... More

We were visiting Seattle for a wedding and the rehearsal dinner was held here. Right from the start they couldn't do enough for us. Both my husband and I have allergies which we had contacted the manager about in advance. He met us when we arrived, introduced our waitress and assured us they would take good care of us. I... Some people we met during our journey in the US had recommended 'Tavolata', stating that "the happy hour was great there". We got there around 6PM. They brought us to something they called the 'community table' (or something like that). When the waiter gave us the menu and some water, we couldn't find anything about the happy hour, so I... Our party of four had dinner last night--this restaurant was selected by our daughter for her birthday celebration. She and our son-in-law love this place and enjoyed everything. We started off with our ears bleeding from the decibels of music on top of the already loud ambient noise. It was so bad that our server agreed immediately to our request... More

Although we've been here for dinner, this time we tried their happy hour. Ethan Stowell is one of a few local restaurateurs who has a big corner of the business in Seattle, and we know why! The building itself is so light and open, with cool lighting and very high ceilings. We sat at the bar since the tables there... More

I'd rate this place with 5 stars simply because it's ahhhmazingly good food. But we arrived with reservations & weren't seated for 15 minutes. The entire meal took 2 hours as they had a huge party & very few servers. Older folks in our group said it was too loud and echoey. Our 40's friends LOVED the 80's soundtrack throughout... More

I would rate this restaurant higher if it wouldn't ended the way it did. The hostes was friendly and so was the waiter. I don't have any complaints about the food, it was good but the waiter ruined the whole experience. After I give him my money for the food he rounded up the bill without any explanation. It wasn't... We were here on the Seattle Belltown food tour and stopped for a glass of wine and a dish of pasta with a fantastic beef ragu. The herbs, the meat, the pasta were cooked perfectly. The seating is communal at long tables that allows for meeting new friends.
