As of the end of November 2012, the 35th Street Bistro is closed. We heard the rumors, but thought we had time to head over for one last dinner ... and all was dark. So sad. Thanks for the great meals and memories!

After spending a few weeks in Languedoc this summer I was craving an authentic French dining experience. This is not it. Nice space. Decent service. Nice presentation. But the taste did not match even middling restaurants in the south of France. Unimpressive steak frites. Adequate pork chop. OK mussels. I am told by one of our party that the trout... More

Even though we were dressed in jeans and t-shirts, the staff treated us like royalty. We had two young kids and the staff were very accommodating in splitting a hamburger for their lunch. I had the Smoked Chicken Salad which I was amazed how the chicken was tender and had great flavor. The rest of the party had the Bistro... More

I have always loved the 35th Street Bistro, but the recent redesign of the space really opens the bar up to the outside and makes the whole place lighter. Great wine selection and signature cocktails... oh and the food - awesome!! Try the Duck pate mousse or anything they serve for brunch.

So much about tripping over adventures revolves around a willingness to change plans mid-stream, say, when a wrong turn steers you to a new neighborhood, or your boyfriend suddenly decides that he’s no longer in the mood for a full-fledged Moroccan feast in Ballard. Both of these things happily conspired in my favor last weekend. http://trippingdelightfantastic.wordpress.com/ I’d been to Fremont... More

We were walking by and it looked too cool to pass by so we popped in for drinks and an appetizer on the patio. The drinks were great and the fromage plate was out of this world. The dinner menu looked really interesting and they had a good looking chef's taster menu. Definitely plannning on returning for dinner.

It is a French restaurant. I wanted to go there for a while. I was kind of disappointed; the menu is not very "French" and the taste either.

They get it right here. It's great French bistro food but they incorporate "American" standards of service and space, so you don't have to be involved everyone elses' conversations.
