Lunch in the leafy Volterra terrace in Ballard was the perfect way to relax on a lazy Wednesday afternoon. Fresh crusty bread with olive oil and salt went perfectly with the strong and robust taste of the Volterra House red. The lunch special of Halibut Fettuccine in cream sauce was excellent as was my son’s Salad with Grilled Chicken. Service... More

Face it -- even the most mediocre sit down lunch in Seattle will run at least 10 bucks. So a two course Prix Fixe lunch at Volterra for 16 bucks is quite a deal. I had the lunch special of tagliatelle pasta with a filet of beef in red sauce and tiramisu for dessert. My brothers had the pork jowls... More

Delicious Italian food.Fresh bread came to the table. We shared salads. I had spaghetti and shrimp that was a bit spicy, but in a good way. Fetticcini with roasted chicken was good. The only problem was no air conditioning. They did have fans set up but it was so hot. So uncomfortable to eat.

We have the opportunity to visit the Ballard district in Seattle from time to time and to try the area's wide array of restaurants. A few years ago, I read a glowing review of Volterra, and resolved to go there "some time" -- but never "got the chance" until recently. We had a one-night stay at the Hotel Ballard up... More

Popped in for lunch... Sat at the bar... Brent made us a fabulous grapefruit mojito to start. The Dungeness crab ravioli was the bomb.com and I had the fettuccini with prawns. It was light and delicious. The perfect way to get a snack in without weighing yourself down. We will definitely come back again and again.

This restaurant has a lot going for it. There is nice atmosphere, good service and high quality entrees, sides and desserts. We were rather dismayed at the pricey entrees and small portions. We left hungry, actually. Please increase entree portions by 20-30% and we will return.

With an annual trip to Seattle we have built up a collection of favourite places to eat. After an amazing dinner in early 2014 Volterra joined this list. A couple of new members joining our group we had all raved about the Volterra experience. This made it all the more disappointing when returning last week the standard of both food... More

I can only second what several of the previous reviewers have written. The food and service are very good. They have a large wine list and a full bar. Reservations are a must even if you plan to dine early. If you are not familiar with the area, then I recommend driving to it in the daylight to see where... More

We dined at Volterra during our stop in Seattle on our way back to Portland from our visit to Victoria over Canada Day weekend. We were staying at the Hotel Ballard so it was a short walk to Volterra. We were seated in the garden dining area. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli for her entree. I had the fish... More
