Good start or ending to the ferry

I always stop here for the first or last drink after or before getting on the ferry. This is always worth the small walk. They usually have live music, and the drinks are always flowing. The food is great too. You cant go wrong heading to this Irish pub.

Went for a walk, found it, and glad I did! Hows the song go? "I love this bar" Loved the atmosphere, a true irish pub with amazing clam chowder and even better fish n chips. The staff were awesome the Jameson flows like wine and the women flock like the salmon of Capastrano! Get down here have a drink, have... More

We had attended an early Mariner game and were walking back to our downtown hotel and wandered in here for a pint and ended up having dinner. So glad we did! Fish and chips were very good and another couple had a Reuben that looked awesome - and they pour a mean Guinness! Their Irish Mules were really tasty! Wait... More

Cool spot for happy hour. Fish 'n Chips only $5 during happy hour (and they taste great). Kind of dark and not so pretty, but it's a pub with good food, good drinks and good people!!

This is probably the billionth time someone has raved about the fish-n-chips here, but it's definitely warranted. The tartar sauce is amazing, the fish is tender and sweet, the coating is impossibly crispy, and the portions are good. Wash it down with a pint of beer while cheering on Seattle's sports teams with the rowdy locals and you'll be in... More

Good ambience, excellent fresh fish n/chips (their speciality); good billards, beer and music. Location is tough to find, but just ask any hotel bellman and they will direct you, or use yahoo maps and they'll escort you via phone! In a small alley, but friendly and good vibes.

I go to the Own & Thistle every time I'm in Seattle. Its a nice friendly pub with friendly staff and customers. Almost anyone feels right at home. Its on Post Ave. which is more of an alley than a street. Post is about 1/2 a block toward the waterfront from 1st Avenue, and 1/2 a block from Alaska Way... More

Though I've been only once, and though I didn't love my meal, my experience was overall good and I would return if ever in downtown Seattle. It was Halloween, and friends and staff were gathered mostly in costume. I took my time with the menu, hemmed and hawed over some nice-looking fare, but settled on a steak sandwich. It wasn't... We wandered in after seeing signs for Owl 'N Thistle on the main road. What a pleasant surprise! Nice cozy atmosphere and they even projected the ALCS game on the wall in the back. Would definitely go back.
