One of my favourite restaurants in South Lake Union

The food here is great and the pancakes are amazing. It does get a bit noisy during lunch time so don't come here for the conversation around this time of day.

Me and my colleagues had here the sunday brunch. Dishes are enormous and all taste good. The place is near the lake so you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.

I enjoyed this place very much. As good as the food was the people watching. The clientele consisted mostly of very intelligent-looking 20-somethings, and old hippies in their 60s and 70s. A few young couples with kids, but mostly singles. I had the oatmeal cobble french toast, which was wonderful, and came with the breakfast bar, which consisted of piles... More

I am currently obsessed with Portage Bay and am determined to try their entire menu! Everything is locally grown/made - which isn't the high point for me. I enjoy the atmosphere of this restaurant and the food tastes amazing. I would suggest trying their pancakes AND/OR french toast which also let's you utilize their fruit bar (berries, syrup, nuts and... More

No trip to Seattle would be complete without a stop at one of Portage Bay Cafe locations. My favorites include the Migas scrambled eggs with chorizo, Greek omelette with local goat cheese and Swedish pancakes ... breakfast bar included...awesome!

We went here for breakfast before going to see Wicked at the Paramount. Made a reservation, they texted a confirmation 30 minutes before we arrived. This place was packed and the waiting outside and inside was crazy......they should of made a reservation. Showed up 10 minutes early and we were seated within 5 min. The service was excellent and timely.... More

One of the only restaraunts I've found that uses locally sourced, organic food. Came here for breakfast after staying at the holiday inn for a night. A close walk. I had the French toast, and they brought out HUGE servings! They have a breakfast bar that has bowls of berries to put on your pancakes/French toast/ what have you. One... More

It is very noisy here. Full of Amazonians at lunch..I had the veggie burger which came with a side salad...the lettuce was not cold, burger was ok but it had a mushy texture and fell apart...it would be better served with the excellent roll toasted on the side and a more generous serving of the excellent but barely there sauce,... We visited Portage in South Lake Union on June 20 one day prior to Father's Day. I had heard so many great things about the restaurant and it took me years to finally trek to Seattle from the Eastside for breakfast. We were so excited about going. The staff is very unfriendly and unwelcoming- from host/hostess to wait staff. We... More

My Husband and I visited the south Lake union location on a busy Sunday for brunch. We made reservations ahead, so we only had to wait 5 mins past our reservation time. The café was busy. Yes it was sunday brunch...to be expected. We ordered our meal and drinks. The Orange juice and coffee arrived very quickly. However no spoon... More
