Solid food and friendly staff...

I have eaten at 74th street on several occasions and have enjoyed it each time. The menu is much different than I expected it to be when I walked through the doors for the first time. There is an interesting variety, and everything I have tried so far (fish tacos, black bean burger, tuna melt) has... read more

It's a pub. A cozy pub. 3 stars isn't a condemnation. I enjoyed it. But 5 stars would require WOW. No. It's a nice little pub and I've been to other nice little pubs with decent food and service. I'm not in this hood alot. Perhaps if I was, and went in a lot, I'd up the stars? One cannot... More

Out-of-town friends had eaten at 74th Street Ale House on a previous visit to Seattle and suggested we meet there for lunch on a weekday at 1:30pm. We were promptly served beverages and were about to order sandwiches when the server urged us to consider the "Blue Plate Special", a penne pasta dish with chicken and cilantro pesto. We all... A pal suggested this place for lunch and I was surprised by the high quality of menu items in this neighborhood bar. We both had the pulled pork sandwich special which was outstanding. Piled high, w/potato salad as an aside. Not cheap - $14 each - but worth returning for other selections. Un-pretentious. Locals hang-out from all indications.

We were going to the Christmas Play at the Taproot Theater and needed a place to eat. We had seen the 74th Street Ale House driving along Greenwood and decided to give it a try. We are glad that we did. The beer selection is good and the food was better than I had expected. The service was prompt, helpful... More

I wish more places would serve imperial pints! Delicious tap list, tomato chicken soup was fresh that morning and it just might be the best blackened salmon sandwich on the planet.

It was the first rainy day of the season after a long warm summer, so rare in the Seattle area, and we were welcomed by a friendly face that could easily have been my brother or my cousin! The Muligawny Soup was spicy and nourishing, Reubens fit perfectly with a crisp ale! We'll be back... Felt warm and cozy and... More

The wait staff at this restaurant actually made my stay in Seattle one of the best. They're super friendly and welcoming. Fantastic beer selection, always new ones to try on tap.

I used to come here all the time in the 90's. Hadn't been back for a couple of years. We bought two Groupons and they're expiring soon. We went last night and had a wonderful meal. We ordered the Clam Linguini and Red Reuben sandwich. Both were excellent! As it was a Wednesday night, we got a table easily. We'll... More

I wish I lived here so this could become my neighborhood go-to place! Our party sampled the abundant local beers, a special, as well as pasta and seafood entrees . All terrific choices. The service was excellent as well , A find!
