A pal suggested this place for lunch and I was surprised by the high quality of menu items in this neighborhood bar. We both had the pulled pork sandwich special which was outstanding. Piled high, w/potato salad as an aside. Not cheap - $14 each - but worth returning for other selections. Un-pretentious. Locals hang-out from all indications.

We were going to the Christmas Play at the Taproot Theater and needed a place to eat. We had seen the 74th Street Ale House driving along Greenwood and decided to give it a try. We are glad that we did. The beer selection is good and the food was better than I had expected. The service was prompt, helpful... More

I wish more places would serve imperial pints! Delicious tap list, tomato chicken soup was fresh that morning and it just might be the best blackened salmon sandwich on the planet.

It was the first rainy day of the season after a long warm summer, so rare in the Seattle area, and we were welcomed by a friendly face that could easily have been my brother or my cousin! The Muligawny Soup was spicy and nourishing, Reubens fit perfectly with a crisp ale! We'll be back... Felt warm and cozy and... More

The wait staff at this restaurant actually made my stay in Seattle one of the best. They're super friendly and welcoming. Fantastic beer selection, always new ones to try on tap.

I used to come here all the time in the 90's. Hadn't been back for a couple of years. We bought two Groupons and they're expiring soon. We went last night and had a wonderful meal. We ordered the Clam Linguini and Red Reuben sandwich. Both were excellent! As it was a Wednesday night, we got a table easily. We'll... More

I wish I lived here so this could become my neighborhood go-to place! Our party sampled the abundant local beers, a special, as well as pasta and seafood entrees . All terrific choices. The service was excellent as well , A find!

The 74th Streeet Alehouse at 74th and Greenwood in Seattle is a friendly neighborhood Pub with great food, a great selection of local and international beers on tap, and a welcoming pack of 'regulars' that will make you feel right at home. The menu always offers a trio of weekly specials, so there is always variety, even though the base... More

This place has great food and drink. Nice selection of micro brews along with a few commercial brands in bottle. I had the highly recommended Rueben and my wife had the Chicken Sandwich. The Rueben comes with chips, but I elected to get the cup of gumbo instead. It was definitely the right decision. I'm not a soup person, so... More

The beer is great, what you'd expect from a place with "ale house" in the name. We were there on a brewer's night, and the featured beers were fresh and unique. My salad was good, but the standout item was my husband's Reuben sandwich: Crisp caraway rye, piled high with steaming corned beef, and topped with savory red sauerkraut, Swiss... More
