In my opinion one needs to look south of downtown Seattle to find the best barbeque. Where BBQ is everything and not just an item on a longer menu, then you know it's been perfected! R&L is just that kind of place and we found it by accident (sort of). We'd been busy all day and hadn't thought about dinner.... More

If you want traditional soul food like barbecue ribs and sweet potato pie then this is the place. The food is fantastic and it's also very good value for money. My girlfriend and I shared a pound of ribs, coleslaw, potato salad and a piece of sweet potato pie and it came to less than $25. R&L is a family-owned... More

I am 70 years of age and I have been a customer of R & L Home of Good Barbeque since I was 13 years old, whether I lived in Seattle, Bellevue, Edmonds or Mill Creek! I was attending Washington Junior High School at the time, which was located about one block away! I either take out or eat in... More

I try barbeque every where I go and measure all others by their standard. All have failed. The sauces are usually too sweet or... More

Even my Grandparents were delighted with their food the time I sent them off on the Amtrak with plenty of ribs and chicken for the... More

Way up the hill from Pioneer Square on Yesler Way where the neighborhood doesn't have the shi-shi feel of so much of today's Seattle, if you watch carefully, the red neon glow tells you you've found "R & L Home of Good Barbecue." And that's an understatement. But then much about this little joint is understated. Forget alcoholic beverages, you... More
