I have been a loyal customer to the Hole in the Wall BBQ for over two years now. On average I go about twice a week, but I have been known to go upwards of 3 to 5 times in one week! Not only is it my favorite BBQ joint in all of Washington, it is my favorite restaurant period.... more

Chuck died a couple years ago, but his son carries on valiantly. The pork is as good as ever, and if they tell you the brisket is awesome today, order it! The sauce is great, not like any other. The coffee in it is mostly for color. Order the beans "with attitude" and they'll squirt some chili paste on for... more

I had the pulled pork sandwich and the "award-winning" chili here for lunch today. The chili was fine, but no better than the typical Au Bon Pain chili you can find in cafeterias. As the story goes, Chuck won $25K in a Washington State Chili cook-off, and his friends recommended that he take his winnings and open a hole-in-the-wall joint. So he did. And the results are terrific. Get a "medium wet pork" with a side of potato salad, and you won't be disappointed. The brisket's wonderful, too. BBQ the way it should... more
