Ivar's Original Acres of Clams has been a tradition since 1938. Seattle's most historic full service seafood restaurant is poised on Seattle's romantic colorful waterfront at Pier 54. This attractive yet informal restaurant has a wharf-like feel which showcases stellar waterfront views of Washington State ferries, Fire Station #3's waterside operations and Puget Sound. Our chefs create award-winning unique preparations to reflect the season's bounty, yet still showcase Ivar Haglund's world famous original recipes. You'll dine on wild Alaskan salmon, deep-water halibut, Alaskan King Crab, Dungeness Crab, jumbo prawns, manila clams, weathervane scallops just to name a few. Due to Ivar's longstanding relationships and purchasing power in the market, check the fresh market catches showcasing exclusive runs from the Northwest. As always, you can depend on our traditional seafood favorites featuring fresh steamed clams, fish 'n chips, Puget Sound clam chowder and much more. Ivar's Acres of Clams offers a variety of snack, dining and cocktail options for happy hour, lunch, dinner, banquets, groups and special events.

Good seafood

We landed here by accident, thinking this was the place where they dump a crab boil on your table (that's the Crab Pot down the street) but we were too hot and tired to get up, so we stayed for a very enjoyable meal. My sister-in-law was in town from Nebraska and we took her down to the remodeled Ivars on the waterfront. Seafair week and lots of traffic, but found a lot across the street that had parking open. First let me say the remodel of the dining room is beautiful. Calming colors of blue and wood, and a nice waiting area. We... More

Went to Ivars on the waterfront and found it to be mediocre best. I had the cod tacos, the fish was cooked well, bit they were a bit dry, no salsa, hot sauce or anything to add to the taco. Just fish and cabbage! The calamari appetizer was good and well cooked, with an appetizing dipping sauce. My partners shrimp were... More

Had an early dinner that was very tasty. We had terrific service and a fantastic view. We felt that the prices were a bit pricey, however the prices do include a tip.

I've eaten here before and liked it. But I wouldn't get the clam chowder unless you want to get sick. It didn't taste very good anyway.

Great restaurant and they had one of my favorite beers. Alaska Amber Ale on draft. Great fish and chips. Had 8 adults and most had fish and chips. Clam chowder was good. Best fish and chips I've had. Local favorite with several locations.

Dine inside or out, we chose inside. Lovely menu options, we had fried calamari and seafood avocado stack to start. All so fresh and delic ! My kids had fried prawns and fish. I had a crisp Caesar salad and a bowl of seafood chowder, my husband had the chowder trio, a lovely sampling of the chowders they offer. Great... More

You just can't go wrong with eating at Ivar's. It is right on the edge of moderately priced and fine dining (depending on what you order), but I considered ti fine dining because we live in Alaska and our perspective on prices is skewed. The chowder was tasty, the fish and chips was prepared perfectly, and the salmon was a-maze-ing.... More

Ivar's is a legend in Seattle. It doesn't matter whether or not you order - Fish Only, White or Red Chowder, Clams, Fish & Chips, Halibut - it is cooked in a flash and served plain and simply delicious. Don't miss this happy daily celebration.

Went for lunch as soon as it opened - the service was good, bread seemed like it was from the day before. Ordered the fish and chips since that is one of the dishes they are known for - and I was not impressed. The breading was more like a panco breading and not a beer battered traditional fish and...
