Ivar's Original Acres of Clams has been a tradition since 1938. Seattle's most historic full service seafood restaurant is poised on Seattle's romantic colorful waterfront at Pier 54. This attractive yet informal restaurant has a wharf-like feel which showcases stellar waterfront views of Washington State ferries, Fire Station #3's waterside operations and Puget Sound. Our chefs create award-winning unique preparations to reflect the season's bounty, yet still showcase Ivar Haglund's world famous original recipes. You'll dine on wild Alaskan salmon, deep-water halibut, Alaskan King Crab, Dungeness Crab, jumbo prawns, manila clams, weathervane scallops just to name a few. Due to Ivar's longstanding relationships and purchasing power in the market, check the fresh market catches showcasing exclusive runs from the Northwest. As always, you can depend on our traditional seafood favorites featuring fresh steamed clams, fish 'n chips, Puget Sound clam chowder and much more. Ivar's Acres of Clams offers a variety of snack, dining and cocktail options for happy hour, lunch, dinner, banquets, groups and special events.

Closed Temporarily.

We tried to go there for lunch in December 2014. Alaskan Way in front of Ivar's Acres of Clams is being reconstructed so there is NO ACCESS to Ivars. It is closed until the street repair is completed. It may open next summer for tourist season, depending on construction of the street..

I love seafood as well as the Seattle scenery and this place fulfills both desires. The fish and chips were impeccable. I paid the extra fee for fresh salmon instead of cod and boy is that worth it! I live in Montana and that fresh taste of seafood truly made my day. I even ordered the same thing at the... More

There were 3 of us and we all had a different meal. There was more than enough for us all to share! Two of us split both an appetizer, salad and the main meal. The server made sure the kitchen split our salad and main meal on separate plates. Very nice. Everything was tasty and meals sizes were generous. We... More

This restaurant has been on the waterfront for years and years. We ate there the last weekend before it closed due to the seawall construction It will re-open sometime next summer depending on what the construction schedule ends up being We asked for a quiet table and were seated in the back of the restaurant overlooking the water The food... Good food, good views, friendly wait staff. My son and I were wandering around looking for a lunch spot and saw Ivar's and wanted to try the clam chowder. It was delicious as were our meals. He even saved room for cheesecake for dessert.

Unfortunately Ivars on the Seattle waterfront will be closed Oct 1 along with other waterfront businesses until next summer (2015) for a new seawall construction. I have been going to Ivar's over 50 years, since I was a child and Ivar Haglund was still alive.....the food is always good, sometimes a bit of a wait and when in hurry I... More

We were in Seattle (post cruise) for a few days and visited Ivars. Overall it was a nice experience. Their chowder was outstanding and my combination plate was excellent. However, my wife had the salmon and felt it was undercooked along with the green beans. She wouldn't let me complain so I don't know what they would have done. We... More

there were three of us and we were in a rush. So we asked our waiter if it were possible to get out in 45 minutes, and he said yes. Then he left again without taking our order. We all ordered the same plate, a combo platter dinner. After a very long wait, long missing our 45 minutes, the waited... More

Ivar's Acres of Clams will be closed for approximately nine months beginning in October 2014 because the City of Seattle is reconstructing the sea wall in downtown Seattle. The reconstruction will cause the temporary closure of many businesses that are located on the downtown Seattle waterfront.

This creamy thick clam chowder is the best I have had any where! Eating on the outdoor deck watching the seagulls beg for food is such a unique eating experience you don't get at any other restaurant!
