Great food!

Very bad parking, never enough. Good place to eat, a bit expensive but its seafood and not a fast food restaurant. Interesting interior designing with canoes used long ago hanging from the ceiling. All-you-can-eat brunch was very good, somewhere in the $40 range i believe, but the food was well... read more

Well, I just had my first run-in with the down-side to the $15/hour minimum wage that is all the rage now. We ate at Ivar's Salmon Bar in Seattle last night and while the food was AWESOME, the service was, well, AWFUL!!! When we arrived, there was a notice that they had recently raised all of their employees' wages to... More

I love this restaurant, originally built by Ivar, owner of several restaurants on Seattle's waterfront and a chain of fish and chips restaurants. He was a Seattle icon for many years, and all of his restaurants were excellent.

Ivars offers their Clam Club a Birthday meal discount! We took advantage of it this year! Outstanding King Salmon. Beautiful view of Lake Washington . Waiters are now NOT Tipped.. price is all inclusive of their tip. So there was some Sticker Shock. But I think it balanced out.. Cocktails pricey .. NOT glamorous.. but interior full of Native American... More

I have been going to Ivar's Sunday brunch for years...always as a celebration for a 50th anniversary, or a 60th birthday, or a 70th birthday (never mine). You get the idea. I don't remember how much I enjoyed the food BTA (before tripadvisor) so I can't compare but this morning's visit lived up to my low expectations. Many tasteless dishes... More

Recommended by hotel front-desk, and although we didn't have reservations we managed to get a table immediately. Great food - fish and chips were flavorful without being too fishy, and was unusually light and completely non-greasy. The clam chowder was hands-down the best I've ever had. Happy hour prices were incredible (on a Sunday evening) - we just happened to... More

This restaurant always is busy so make sure you call ahead to make a reservation -- especially on weekends! Our family of four dined at the restaurant on a busy Saturday evening. Despite the volume of customers with whom our waiter (Rahiti? I am so sorry if I misspelled your name!) had to contend, we never once felt neglected! He... More

This was a great restaurant with excellent food. My husband and I visited with another couple, and we were able to sit by the windows with a great view of the lake. The salmon and all side dishes were delicious! All of us had various fish dishes and were all happy with our meals.

I was here on business for dinner. We all ordered the Salmon special and it was amazing. The clam chowder came highly recommended but I'd save the calories and room for something else- it just didn't blow my socks off. The waiter was very nice, attentive and had suggestions on wine pairings. Parking was a nightmare but we found a... More

Lived in Seattle for years before returning to California. This place truly is a Seattle institution. I always take out of town guest (family & friends) here. The reasons are multiple: 1) Salmon is a cornerstone of Pacific Northwest Cuisine. If you're a visitor and you want to truly experience the Pacific Northwest's culture you must have Salmon at some...
