This just seems to be one of those solid, reliable places that attracts the locals and keeps them coming back. We came here for breakfast three times, and it never failed us. The food was tasty and hot - I particularly enjoyed the French toast - and brought quickly by friendly wait staff. The walls are adorned with interesting photos... More

My hubby and I were on our way to Alki Beach for the day when we saw this little gem under the bridge. We noticed a few patrons that were 50-70 and thought we'd try out the cafe since most people that age typically don't change up a good place for breakfast. We were correct! We were seating right away.... More

Ate here on Sunday morning. The service was slow, the food good. Suggestion, if you're slow get the coffee out quickly. We waited about 30 minutes for breakfast. Read this as (get the coffee out fast) and hungry patrons will overlook the backed up kitchen. Other than that the food and value was good. Full disclosure, I travel weekly so... More

Even on Easter morning, a table was available late morning and the food, nicely prepared, fairly priced and quickly served was just what we wanted. The special was a blueberry/cream cheese French toast...w/syrup...outstanding. Old-tyme Seattle at its best...and especially enjoyed by locals.

This one of my favorite breakfast places in my home city (yeah, I live in Seattle...how lucky am I?). I prefer the Chelan Cafe to the more well known and nearby Luna Park Cafe. You won't find any of the Top Chef contestants in the kitchen - just good, solid line cooks producing some standard breakfast fare. I'm a sucker... More

It feels like I went 30 years back in time. Great food in a diner with an at home atmosphere. The prices are reasonable. For the money, it's a 5 star and that from a very discriminating diner.

Chelan Cafe is just the place I have been looking for in West Seattle. Sometimes you just feel like good ol' comfort food. I have been here twice for breakfast. It's a typical diner menu, with good prices and really yummy coffee. I was surprised how tasty the coffee is! The service is prompt and friendly. Don't go in here... More
