Just go here for lunch. The meatloaf sandwich is great and they just stuff so much turkey in to their signature sandwich. Soup is good too. Colourful cashier and friendly atmosphere. I will go back everytime I am in Seattle

We went there for lunch a couple and it is a fast service but they also expect you to decide what you want just as quickly so be warned if you have never been there before....but the soups and sandwiches are all tasty and filling.

What a refreshing discovery. After completing the "underground Seattle" tour, we found this nondescript restaurant a block away - on Cherry between First and Second. After descending the steps, enter the cafe and review the menu board to choose your favorite sandwich or daily special. We had turkey and dressing and skirt steak specials, complemented by squash soup and cornbread.... More

A great lunch deal. Good deals on sandwiches, I like the turkey or meatloaf the best. The daily specials can be good as well. A long time favorite with me. One down side only open on weekdays.

I've been going to Bakeman's since the 1980s - it's that good. There is nothing fancy about the place. Who cares? Amazing lunch fare, including the famous homemade turkey sandwiches. Big chunks of freshly roasted turkey on homemade bread. Yum. Terrific assortment of other sandwiches (great meatloaf!), soups and salads. And always overlooked: Jason's (the owner) daily specials. It might... More

I had a turkey sandwich, made with real, roasted turkey and cranberry sauce. It was like the sandwiches you make after Thanksgiving. Clientel was mostly downtown workers, so a local favorite. No wonder this place was voted "Best Lunch Counter".

This is not a fancy place but you can not beat it for breakfast as far as price and good food goes. Try their banana bread or any other kind of homemade bread they offer, it'll cost about $1.25 and you'll be pleasantly full!

Bakeman's is a Downtown Seattle institution. Its just below street level in the Hoge Building, one of the Financial District's oldest and best maintained office buildings. Bakeman's roasts turkeys daily, and the sandwiches are at least as good as Mom used to make. Soups, pies and other offerings round out a simple, delicious lunch experience. Its a no frills atmosphere,... More

Real Turkey Sandwiches (not processed or pressed - the real deal) and Stick-to-your-ribs Soups. Good portions. Service? Let's just say the owner always seems to be in a hurry. But then I don't go there for hugs & kisses.
