I've been to Ray's a bunch of times over the years and typically I would give them 4 stars. It's been about 2 years since I was there last and I have to say that the atmosphere and commitment to excellence have degraded considerably. It was a beautiful sunny Monday evening in Seattle so we thought let's go watch the... More

Living in San Francisco we have a seemingly endless choice of superb restaurants and dives. However, it was in Seattle that we had the best meal of our lives. Every cocktail, wine pairing, appetizer, entree, and dessert had us saying, wow! The views were breathtaking and the service was superb. We had the following: Hamachi Crudo Oysters: Champagne-yuzu ice, tequila-lime... More

Anywhere in the restaurant you can see the mountains and the Bay, at first I thought it was a little to fancy (our reservation was in the dining room, though they have a lighter fare upstairs in Rays Café.)

Bartender was friendly. Waitress seemed overloaded. Food was decent - I had moderate hopes given some of the reviews. Crab cake (you can get a half order) was tasty and had a good balance of crab for my tastes. I can't remember my entree, which seems like a bad sign. I remember the view was worth it :) we had... Stopped in for dinner on a Monday evening. The atmosphere is what you'd expect for a seafood restaurant on the water's edge. Plenty of windows looking out on the sound. The food was excellent with a great wine list and attentive staff.

My wife and I returned to Ray's with business associates. We have always loved the setting--the view of the Olympic mountain range across Elliot Bay with boats coming and going as the sun was setting. One of the most beautiful sights you will ever enjoy. Ray's combined the best of the old with the best of the new. Ray's serves... More

My husband ate here some years ago and raved about it. Tripadvisor reviews confirmed his thoughts. So we took out of town friends there. But we were all 4 disappointed. The view is great. The service was fine. But the food did not meet expectations. As our friend from Arkansas said, he expected more crab in the crab cakes than... More

Let me warn you, this place is not inexpensive but it was worth every dollar. We visited the cafe with a young friend. Having arrived about 1/2 hour before our reservation, we sat at a table in the bar to have a drink while we waited. Our server offered to serve us dinner which we happily accepted as our table... I went here with a group of about 15. The service was very slow in every aspect from getting drinks to getting the bill when we were done. My food arrived cold and I sent it back. By the time they brought it back, it was unappetizingly overcooked and most of the others had already finished their meals. I only... More
