A memory from the past

Walking into El Gaucho immediately brought me back to a time as a child when my parents would eat at a "Supper Club". The decor, layout and design of the El Gaucho was well thought out! When you walk in the room is dark, the circular booths around the room. I just wanted to stand in the room in... read more

There are a number of places where you can enjoy a delicious steak, but El Gaucho consistently finds itself on the top of my list of those places. The Chateaubriand for two is the best option on the menu. Everything is included on the plate, no need to order a side dish. You get potato, and a vegetable and mushrooms... More

Many bemoan the lack of fine dining locations, places that are worth getting dressed to the nines. In a world where casual dining is all the rage, there is still at least one monument to elegance left and that is El Gaucho. Maybe it's the décor, which reminds you of places you've only seen in movies. Or maybe it's the... More

Superior and friendly service. One of the best dinners of our lives. A lot of tableside service. Pricey- but it was a worthwhile indulgence.

This is a steak place but its not about the food its about the place. You step into the 70s and its dark, so unperturbed by photons that you are given a flashlight to read the menu. In the distance a dais for beverages grabs a disproportionate share of luminance, to become a radiant altar for alcohol diversity. You feel... More

Food was great, service just the way i like it ( not over the top but somone is always there when you need). Nice surprise was the complimentary cheese... More

Restaurant Week took us there, and I appreciate their participation in it. From the moment we walked in the door til we left, our experience was wonderful. From the greeting, to the decor, the music and the service, it was great. The service especially was unlike any I've had in Seattle. Our server Chris couldn't have been better. The food,... More

We are used to fine dining admittedly and travel internationally. Some of our favourite meals haven't always been from high class restaurants but when we are recommended to one of the so called best places to eat in town we actually expect the best. Which is what happened tonight . Our hotel has given us excellent recommendations on where to... More

We ate at El Gaucho as part of Restaurant Week. We had choices of two appetizers, three entrees and three desserts, for $30 each. My wife's steak medallions were her best bite of the trip. The truffle soup was delicious and boy, were the desserts scrumptious. We are glad we had the opportunity.
