We dined here for the first and last time a few days ago. For a group of 10, the price tag came to over $1200. I have paid that much for a meal many times before, but frankly, at that price, they should serve a truly outstanding meal. Sadly, this meal was just average. I had a seafood pasta dish... More

You go there and finish like been in the kitchen cooking by the smoke in the dinning room. Worst steak in Seattle. Dark like a discotheque.

Whatever your view on dimly lit steakhouses where you can't have dinner for two without dropping at least $200, this one does what they do as well as any of them. Brilliantly executed every step of the way, we were particularly impressed with the wait staff and the Caesar salad made table side. Count on El Gaucho's for a great... More

El Gaucho has been a standard for fine dining in Seattle for years. The food: steaks, lobster, caesar salads, mushroom soup, cherries jubilee, I could go on, are world class. Yes it is a little outdated in the decor department and is dark, I agree. The service is first class. If you want the fine dining experience, and it does... More

I LAVA me a great steak with some great service. Service is ah-mazing here. Food is ahhhhh-mazing here. Wine is ahhh-mazing here. Everything is ahhhhhh-mazing here. :) Recently visited for HH for the first time and it's definitely overpriced. But the hubs liked the steak sandwich and the clams were pretty good. I'm not sure I'd come back for HH,... More

We ordered an age steak and asked the waiter how and where they aged and he didn't know. When we received our steak we could tell immediately it wasn't aged at all. The waiter returned and said they are aged off site. For the price of the al carte entrees you get great service and mediocre food. The décor was... More

Thank you for your feedback and review, although we are sorry to hear that you did not receive a 5-star El Gaucho experience. We can assure you that all of our steaks are 28-day, dry-aged at an off-site facility. We have a great partnership with SmithCo, who dry-ages our beef to our specifications. We pride ourselves on delivering a top... More

It started with a question when we stopped in to make our reservation: is this a special occasion? So when we celebrated Michael's birthday here, we got a discreet (no singing) birthday treat. The rest we paid for, and it was certainly expensive, but we have no complaints. A lovely evening, in a great space, with excellent (live) piano music.... More

Dined last week and left disappointed. It was Seattle restaurant week so it was busy but no excuse when the price point is as it is. Seating- Reservations were made 4 weeks beforehand and we were seated in a "semi-private" dining room, not at all what we wanted to showcase the restaurant to our visiting guests. I was told they were... More

I always enjoy the experience dining at. El Gaucho. It reminds me of what one would imagine a 1960's supper club. The food is always excellent and this is one of the few restaurants west of New Orleans that serves a killer Bananas Foster.
