At first I found the atmosphere a little odd, its a bit different (large old room, dark walls, lots of dark wood), but I liked it for the intimate feel. Slightly pretentious feel to the place. Knowledgeable and friendly server, we were delighted with what we ordered, it was flavorful, different, fresh and prepared and presented with care. Sadly I... More

This is one of the best vegetarian meals I have eaten..the food was excellent! Each and every dish and we didn´t leave a thing on the plate! Lovely homely atmosphere.. we sat ooutside on the terrace. the staff were very friendly and good service. I definitely recommend this place.. However, we did here rumours that it might soon be closing... More

Although the server was pleasant, it took 15 minutes for our beverages to be served. The focaccia had boring texture--more like a muffin than the crumb of real homemade focaccia. Although the tapenade which accompanied the bread was good, there was only a small amount. Our party ordered pizza, risotto, and the mezze platter. None of us enjoyed our food.... More

Carmelita has a rotating seasonal menu, so the freshest seasonal vegetables are always on offer. It has all the classics, but it's especially great when you are tired of spinach and broccoli. On my last visit foraged mushrooms, nettles, spring onions, and sunchokes were expertly craft into an amazing variety of dishes. They also have a creative variety of craft... More

Had a wonderful meal. Love the small feel, the special attention to the food. Prices are not cheap but a great "special occasion" place

$18.00 for a lentil patty the size of a normal hamburger without the lettuce, tomato, pickles ... in other words, nothing but the little mound of tasty and crunchy lentils. It was very good but not that good. My companion had the spaetzel with horseradish cream. It was just ok, and also $18.00. Servers were very busy ... attentive at... More

I love eating vegetarian, but it's sometimes difficult to find a place that does it well enough to be satisfying. Carmelita's was wonderful. I had a pasta dish, my husband had a fantastic pizza. The most wonderful part of the meal this night was dessert. They had a brownie on special that was accompanied by a basil ice cream. This... More

This is not your average vegetarian food made of tofu or beans. These folks really know how to make gourmet, tasty and filling food and it sure is a great change to be able to order ANYthing from the menu!!!

Three of us enjoyed our dinner last night; we all agreed the food was creative and very well prepared. There are options for vegans and gluten-free options as well. Our group had gnocci seasoned with caraway, apple and cabbage, eggplant roulade with tomato jam, lentils and pickled cauliflower, and risotto with gruyere and chanterelles. Shared desert was a chocolate bread... More
