Modern American food, modern setting and good service at reasonable prices. Definitely recommend the burger. Their soups are usually great. Wasn't impressed by their vegetarian options though.

When I decided to make lunch reservation at Farestart, I just wanted to help out those who needed ( homeless and disable people who get support from this program). Although I was not hungry, but I ordered both appetizer and main dish. The smoke carb with pita dip was so.... good. I was full after appetizer. When the friendly waitress... More

FareStart is much more than a restaurant, so a TripAdvisor review is a bit awkward. But, if you are looking for a great meal, at a good price ($29.95), you must go, even without the back story. For those who don’t know, FareStart is a training and placement program for homeless and disadvantaged individuals. You should read up on everything... More

I was amazed at my first time at FareStart. I had of the best sea food in my entire life, and it was all prepared by the most amazing people I've ever seen cooking. The social contribution this restaurant has for the Seattle community is outstanding. They teach people who had stopped believing in their own lives, and show them... More

I attended a private dinner for work here where I had the nicest vegetarian food I have had since eating at Greens Restaurant in San Francisco. And all cooked by nonprofessionals. It is a beautiful space for events. The farro salad, roasted vegetables and eggplant towers were scrumptious. The bulgogi skewer appetizers were tough, but I am particular about bulgogi.... More

Went here to have lunch with friends and was quite impressed with their philosophy. The food was amazing, service was great, and the ambiance was lively. I highly recommend their beet salad - one of the best salads I have ever had! Make sure to make reservations.

We booked a reservation here when we knew we would be in Seattle. There was a local celebrity chef dinner on a Thursday night. What a delight! The servers were volunteers from a Seattle graphic artists group and the food was wonderful. The kale salad was amazing! This is a restaurant that helps disadvantaged people get a new start and... We found this place on line, made reservations (luckily) and a enjoyed nice lunch on a Friday afternoon. The appetizers took a few minutes longer than expected but they were great - Eggplant Bruschetta (you can order by the piece) and the Tuna Tartar dish. Salmon entree was plentiful with a nice selection of cooked but crunchy vegetables. Service was... More

We were walking downtown and looking for a place to rest our feet and enjoy a nice lunch, and came across Fare Start. At first we were not sure what kind of restaurant it was, figuring maybe a culinary school. Then I looked it up on the Internet and was pleasantly surprised to read that this restaurant helps young talented... More

We were recommended by a tv film crew doing a story by the courthouse. They indicated that the restaurant hires disadvantaged people giving them a chance to turn it around for themselves and providing training and culinary experience. The students slap give back to the community. The food is extraordinary. We all opted in for the grass fed beef burgers.... More
