Visited here yesterday and was not disappointed. My Gyro sandwich which was totally filling along with the side of slaw was the smallest of the four plates on the table. Others had seriously HUGE sandwiches all of which were proclaimed to be delicious. The fries were piled high on their plates too. Overall, a yummy lunch, with pretty fast service... More

Just because I'm a Movie buff... and love Sleepless in Seattle we went here after the Pike Market visit.... we were on a hurry, so we did not stay for long, i had the fired calamari and the crabcakes, which were quite delicious... the ovarall look of the place seems not taken care of... but i guess ( hopefully) that... I was a regular at the Athenian in the eighties and nineties, when it was a friendly hangout for Market regulars and lucky tourists, but the current Athenian is not there. We were a group of six, and I wanted to show our guests what was once a fine institution. Alas, the menu is far smaller, the beer selection shorter,... More

First time here, for dinner before National Geographic Live. The six of us all had different entrees. All were said to be great. I had fish and chips; tasty but not greasy. People also had fish tacos, two sandwiches, salads, and such. Nobody felt the desire to share, we wanted it for ourselves. The view of the waterfront with the... More

I can't even begin to count the number of times we've eaten breakfast here. The service is good, the food is tasty, the location is fantastic, and the view unforgettable! This place has become a Seattle tradition for us. Breakfast only though so I can't speak to lunch.... if they even serve lunch? I recommend the Eggs Benedict, the London... More

Finally went in here for lunch on one of my many visits to Pike Place Market. Cozied up to the oyster counter for immediate seating amongst the tourist crowed. My visiting California sister LOVED THE OYSTERS. We also had chowder which was thick and pasty and just plain bad. I had the shrimp bisque heavily salted but better than the... More

As natives of Seattle, we rarely visit the Pike Place Market; it usually is overrun with happy tourists. However, recently we took the time to wander through with the express purpose of having lunch at The Athenian. We had the albacore tuna melt, an oyster po'boy and some of the best coleslaw ever. It's an old Seattle institution, you cannot... More

We alwasy enjoy brunch at the Market before leaving town. There are several lunch counter locationsa nd we typically choos ebased upon lineup length. Keep your expectations in check as these locations are a part of the Market Experience and pretty much cater to one time only tourists. On the other hand enjoy the experience, chow down on good but... More

Food is nothing to write home about. I had the Ahi Tuna salad and my wife had the steak salad. Kids had the clam chowder and prawns. All were bland except for the clam chowder in a bread bowl. I must admit, it was very good clam chowder - some of the best I've ever had. The ambience and location... More

We stopped here after visitng the Seattle Aquarium. We sat in the upper level overlooking the sound below and we could see how far we had climbed from the aquarium. Wow, what a delicious meal. Our family of five ordered four different seafood dishes and shared. Everything was amazing! I had never heard of salmon fish and chips before.... amazing!... More
