Great place in the market

Great little place to sit down and enjoy the sun overlooking the sound. Walking thru the market and this place is in the perfect spot. Went in around 4:30 and were seated right away in a small booth upstairs next to the window. It was a gorgeous sunny day so it made it even better. Food was decent... read more

This place is a gem, a total treasure! Good comfort food, too!! Tons of seafood and choices for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike! Sit in wonderful old wooden booths right next to the window and watch ferries and people. Choose from a huge menu ( Breakfast is my favorite, served all the time) Chill out on Sunday with the papers! Great... More

Went here with my wife on Valentine's day. We had an amazing view of the sound. Our food was great, my wife loved her seafood bowl and the oysters on half shell were the freshest and best tasting I have ever had. Staff was nice polite and honest. Didn't know that a scene from Sleepless in Seattle was Filmed here... More

I ate here at Athenian for an early breakfast. I sat by the window and noticed there were several tables already filled with other hungry people. The view was nice since it was a clear day. The server was prompt with the menu and coffee. The menu was fairly large for a breakfast menu but I stuck with an egg... More

Jonathan and I stopped in here with our young children to have a snack this afternoon. We order a bunch of oysters and a beer in a chilled mug. It was so nice, we decided to come back for dinner. We split the seared tuna salad, then Jonathan had the fresh king salmon and I had the fried seafood platter.... More

The food was delicious, the bar and eating area very quaint, the service was exceptional. The view of the harbor was picturesque. I look forward to eating here again.

The Athenian Inn is just not the same old Athenian. I ate lunch there recently and ordered the Crab Louie which was not on the menu but was told by our Server that it was fabulous and loaded with fresh local Dungeness Crab. It was pricey at $26.95 but I was longing for a delicious Crab Louie so I ordered... More

Visited here yesterday and was not disappointed. My Gyro sandwich which was totally filling along with the side of slaw was the smallest of the four plates on the table. Others had seriously HUGE sandwiches all of which were proclaimed to be delicious. The fries were piled high on their plates too. Overall, a yummy lunch, with pretty fast service... More

Just because I'm a Movie buff... and love Sleepless in Seattle we went here after the Pike Market visit.... we were on a hurry, so we did not stay for long, i had the fired calamari and the crabcakes, which were quite delicious... the ovarall look of the place seems not taken care of... but i guess ( hopefully) that... I was a regular at the Athenian in the eighties and nineties, when it was a friendly hangout for Market regulars and lucky tourists, but the current Athenian is not there. We were a group of six, and I wanted to show our guests what was once a fine institution. Alas, the menu is far smaller, the beer selection shorter,... More
