Greeted at the door by the manager/owner. Meal was excellent. Had the pasta plate where you get to try three different pastas. Had 1) BOLOGNESE spaghetti with classic italian meat sauce, 2) GNOCCHI housemade ricotta gnocchi with toasted walnuts and gorgonzola cream sauce, and 3) ZAFFERANO fusilli with italian sausage, toasted pine nuts, currants, wild arugula and saffron cream sauce.... I came in for a light supper and ordered the seafood soup. The entire soup was a cornocopia of different sea faring foods. There wasn't any filler and I was impressed. No fishy smell, each item in the soup was the perfect texture, and the broth was a great enhancement. I also had the cannoli and they could rival any... More

I have been here many times over the years, and I've never been disappointed. The staff is always welcoming, the food delicious, and the prices are quite reasonable. If they have the seafood risotto special, it is awesome. Also love the lasagne...yum!

My husband picked the restaurant and he certainly did a good job. After ducking out of the Seattle Underground tour we headed over to Assaggio's for dinner. I was a little concerned at first since it was Friday night and not very busy. Many years ago, I lived in Italy for 6 months and my standards for Italian food is... More

Happened upon this charming restaurant. Greeted by the owner. Really nice atmosphere. Food was divine! Baked Eggplant! Tiramasu heaven. Monro cocktail amazing. I want to visit Seattle again just to go back to Assaggio!

Walking through the door, we had high hopes; the Italian gentleman who greeted us was warm and friendly - just the person you'd want to have greet you. After only a brief wait, we were ushered to our table. Our appetizers were tasty, or at least no one complained. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. The entrees were just bad.... We returned recently for a pre-symphony dinner. The owner actually recognized us. Food was again lovely. We split the delicious Brussels sprouts appetizer and a nice wild greens and beets salad. My entree, which was fabulous, was a seafood spaghetti. My husband enjoyed his pasta with boar ragu. Also very nice was the Italian red wine our server recommended. The... More

Called at 5:45 to make a 6PM same day reservation. Was told if I could get there by 6 we were but had to wait. The owner is a very gregarious patron minded person. Bought us a glass of wine and apologized for the wait. Overall the food was fresh and delightful. Highly recommend this establishment. Is definitely on my... More

Amazingly prepared dishes and personal attention to timing (requests by the waiter to place our order, the delivery of our courses, etc.) contributed to a wonderful experience. Our main courses were delivered immediately upon their completion in the kitchen---piping hot (not reheated in a microwave). The lamb my husband ordered was the best he's ever had. More traditionally Italian, I... More

we were looking for a place for lunch and crossed the street aback and forth between Lola and Dahlia and not seeing anything exciting on the lunch menus when an employee if the hotel sitting above and between Lola and Assaggio pointed out theis place and told us that it was terrific. Not so. The menu looked good, the space... More
