Again, my visit to Seattle was completed with a couple of stunning meals in Assaggio on 4th Avenue, a stone's throw from the heart of Seattle's downtown. The cuisine is mostly from Le Marche (The Marches) region of Italy, the region around Ancona on The Adriatic, and with the abundance of great seafood in Seattle, there is a natural marriage... More

We wanted to visit the Pink Door but it was closed and this was right next to our hotel. The choice was the best on the trip and we learned that the food was better here than our first choice. The service was excellent and friendly and the choices were plentiful. I had the three sampler pasta dish and would... More

Love this place. Mauro is the owner who greets you at the door with a huge smile and a hug every time. It's one of the only Italian restaurants in Seattle where you feel like you could actually be in Italy. The service is amazing and the food is wonderful. The Mauro steak is great! His cocktails are very tasty... More

My wife and I had a very nice dinner here during our recant stop in Seattle. The atmosphere was quite nice and the service was exceptional. Our server, Amy H., was extremely efficient and very friendly. We shared a Francesca salad and a half carafe of Rosso Conero. My wife had the Risotto special of the night which included seafood... Great menu in an intimate space. You will get to know your neighbors in this restaurant. Somewhere you need to go more than once.

Recently stayed in Seattle for a day of Xmas shopping and wanted to cap off a great day with a wonderful meal. Arrived at the door and were greeted by the owner. They have a generous variety of fine wines at decent prices. We began with an appetizer for 2 people with select meats, cheese, olives and pickled veggies... This was... More

Greeted at the door by the manager/owner. Meal was excellent. Had the pasta plate where you get to try three different pastas. Had 1) BOLOGNESE spaghetti with classic italian meat sauce, 2) GNOCCHI housemade ricotta gnocchi with toasted walnuts and gorgonzola cream sauce, and 3) ZAFFERANO fusilli with italian sausage, toasted pine nuts, currants, wild arugula and saffron cream sauce.... I came in for a light supper and ordered the seafood soup. The entire soup was a cornocopia of different sea faring foods. There wasn't any filler and I was impressed. No fishy smell, each item in the soup was the perfect texture, and the broth was a great enhancement. I also had the cannoli and they could rival any... More

I have been here many times over the years, and I've never been disappointed. The staff is always welcoming, the food delicious, and the prices are quite reasonable. If they have the seafood risotto special, it is awesome. Also love the lasagne...yum!

My husband picked the restaurant and he certainly did a good job. After ducking out of the Seattle Underground tour we headed over to Assaggio's for dinner. I was a little concerned at first since it was Friday night and not very busy. Many years ago, I lived in Italy for 6 months and my standards for Italian food is... More
