Pleasant, charming place for lunch

The waiters' French accents make this a delightful place for lunch. The quiet, dim atmosphere with great views would be ideal for a romantic dinner. The mussels were terrific, as was the fresh green salad.

The chowder was very good here, as was the bread. We asked to split a sandwich and they brought us the whole thing in one piece. I asked them to cut it, and instead they brought us a knife. By the time I managed to cut what was already a small sandwich, it was a mess. It was a salmon... More

Excellent French dare with view. The deck is the finest at Pike Place Market but many people do not know about it and end up at the Pink Door.

You might be put off by this location. pikes place does seem a bit touristy. Okay a lot touristy. But this little French bistro delivers great fare at decent prices. Their one drink, can't recall the name, but it has a giant absenth ice cube in it is very tasty and powerful. For those who are Francofiles they have a... More

Wow, I can't believe I didn't know about this restaurant before. We went today for Mother's Day brunch (had tried but failed to get Easter brunch ressies, went to the bar instead for a pre-brunch drink, and and was so impressed vowed to make Mother's Day res...). The location is in Pike Place Market, which today--sunny, Mother's Day Sunday--was crazy... More

Very good food in an intimate setting with an excellent view. Pace of meal is more American than French, but I suspect most guests are Americans so will not feel hurried. Be sure to visit their website and review the map or you may have a hard time finding the restaurant.

Everything was really well done. It was romantic, cool for singles, and picturesque. The food was really good; I had the mussels awesome, then the smoked salmon stuffed sole(destroyed) it was the best salmon I have ever had. Lastly I got the warm chocolate lava cake it took about 2 minutes for it to be completely gone it was that... More

We had lunch at Maximilien's today and really enjoyed it. I ordered mussels cooked in cream and carmelized onions. The mussels were large and tasty--local mussels rather than the standard frozen PEI variety. The broth was so tasty I ate quite a bit of it. The French bread was crusty and the accompanying butter with Normandy salt was wonderful. Our... More

Tucked away on the street level we stumbled upon Maximilien only by virtue of signs. Despite dingy entrance area it offers fantastic views especially from its sun terrace. We have main course and drinks for $60 less tip so reasonable value given the location. Food was good. Service by Rene (probably not his real name) was prompt and efficient. Recommend... More

Been to Pike's market several times but had no idea that this place tucked away behind the famous fish throwers existed. This is a full French menu with a host of great seafood offerings. The wait staff is perfect and the view of the water is outstanding. My onion soup was delish and the fresh halibut even better. Wine list... More
