We eat here once in a while with visiting out-of-town friends, and I'm wondering why I don't make the effort to come more frequently when I am downtown. Parking, I guess. The service was pleasant, each lunch entree for 4 of us was perfect. We all had the lunch specials, 3 courses/$25 and were satisfied and then some. I resent... More

Coincidently we had dinner at 3 nice restaurants last week with Maximilian's being the first. (Matt's in the Market & Purple-Bellevue)". Good comparison - The overall experience at at Maximilian was the best. All three had unique ambience and good food. The pricing varied dramatically with Purple being the best value (price), but service and the food was best at... More

We had a beautiful meal on the water in the middle of Pike Street Market. What a find!!!! Lovely meal, great service and beautiful view....what more could you want! Really enjoyed the charm and yummy french wine. A great place to slow down and enjoy a wonderful meal.

True, this place is a bit of a hole in the wall, but what a wonderful hole at that! In fact, being in a somewhat remote corner of the market makes for the advantage of it not being a tourist magnet... The waterfront view is first class and overall the setting here is dark and quite romantic. As for the... More

Despite a large wedding party which booked the entire first floor, the wait staff did a remarkable job in serving the tables on the second floor Outstanding goat cheese appetizer. We shared the duck and salmon entries. We'll return

Great view!! Great seafood chowder!! Lamb burger request for medium was very over-cooked.... Service totally lacking (e.g., bread never brought, pepper brought after a 2nd request, server never did check w/us about anything). The worst $50 I've ever spent....

Hidden in the Pike Place Market, a gem. Fulfilled my foie gras quest since it's been banished in SF. Venison was the special of the night and it was presented superbly. High praise

The view from Maximillien is awesome as it directly overlooks the Sound. The food is authentic French, very nice wine list, and our waiter was a young French man from Paris. He was knowledgeable not only about the food, but also about the French singer playing on the sound system. in fact, I've now downloaded several CDs based on his... More

Our valet recommended this place and I'm so happy he did! We had walked right past earlier in the day and would have missed it again had he not given us such great recommendations & directions. That was a good thing that it was harder to spot as it was still semi-private for being right in the heart of Pike... More

Warm ambience, excellent food, bar. Staff speak French which adds to the experience. Great bread, good selection of entrees. Nice romantic venue or good for families.
