Sicilian themed trattoria with large servings and moderate prices.

La Medusa has been there, serving large portions of Sicilian themed, strongly flavored, dishes that rely on fresh, locally sourced, ingredients for 17+ years and shows no signs of slowing down. This is a trattoria with multiple posters advertising Columbia City events in the entryway. As well as... read more

+) good ingredients, large portions, friendly competent service, cozy space, cloth napkins, clean restrooms with cloth towels, sturdy comfortable seating, happy crowd, welcoming casual vibe. -) salty and garlicky, somewhat heavy handed cooking style, pricy for what it is, ($11 for a small glass of soave, usually under $10 a bottle), no AMEX, challenging parking. Most people really seemed to... More

Great service Wonderful glass of wine that was comped when the wait for the Magnificent Zuppa di Pesce was long. Best meal in months!

this is a small bustling room with a blackboard menu, a decent wine list and adventurous menu items. we were there with friends who were frequent visitors there and so had a head start on what to try. We had olives (3 kinds) and Macrona Almonds with powdered chili,Grama's greens which was kale with all sorts of additions you might... More

Three of us visited for the first time. I had read the reviews, so made a reservation and was glad I did. We shared three appetizers: the fried risotto cheese ball (was very big, and hard to share), the goat sausage pasta (oh wow, that was just great! Very robust favors) and the lobster mushrooms (mixed review on that one,... More

The food was fairly good but on the pricy side. After a couple days of 90+ degree days, it was nice to be in the low 80's but this place trapped the heat! We sucked down water and still kept on sweating - it made dinner uncomfortable and made us cut our conversation short. The waitress we had was very... More

La Medusa is located in a section of South Seattle, Columbia City. I have dined there on a couple of occasions and have found the food to be excellent. It is an Italian restaurant but the creativity of the chef makes this unlike most Italian establishments. I dined there about 3 weeks ago with my wife and son, who lives... More

The food is good but my overall comment would be overpriced. I was in the mood for seafood but the only option was a seafood soup for $27, sorry that's just too much. If I'm spending $27 for a bowl of soup it better have a shark fin in it :-). The diners at the next table had it and... More

Wonderful Italian restaurant in Columbia City. Be sure to make a reservation several days in advance, you'll never get a table otherwise. Changing seasonal menus and home made pastas bring regulars back over and over. It's a small space, beautifully decorated and the service is excellent. Worth the trip to the neighborhood if you haven't been.

Love this restaurant; excellent food choices meu hand written on the board mkes for a unqiue dining experience. Earlier we brought our relatives from Portland here and they raved about this place; the staff always makes you feel welcome!
