Disappointing Dinner

We have fond memories of eating at Al Boccalino's over many decades. Since it had been awhile since we had eaten there, we decided to try it again. We won't be making that decision again. There is no menu, and as we understood the waitress, there are two options to choose from (inexpensive and... read more

On a cold, rainy night, my husband and I headed here, since it was next door to the Best Western Pioneer Square, where we were staying. At 7:30 there was only one other table seated. The small space that was being used as the serving area was quite dark, and the "hostess", who was probably also the only server, seated... More

Our daughters purchased an anniversary gift that consisted of a cooking class at this restaurant. The teacher was knowledgable and engaging. We made a complete meal as a group but thought food was marginal and wasn't aware that drinks were not included in the price the class. Would definitely not recommend this class to anyone I cared about.

It was a dark, rainy night in Seattle and we got caught up in traffic on our way to Al Boccalino, We called and were easily able to change our reservation time to a later time. We had a Goupon for a prixe fixe dinner. Our waiter asked us if we had any food allergies or dislikes and after we... More

Tiny little place tucked away under the Viaduct. Very good food, exceptional service. Perfect for a quiet dinner with your lover. Interesting menu, open your mind a bit and try something new.

We went to lunch with another couple. We ordered pasta for lunch. Owner asked if we wanted some mozzarella and bread and we said yes not knowing that this was extra. We ordered house wine. When we got our bill we were charged 20.00 for mozzarella and the wine was 12.00 per glass for house wine. Total bill was 67.00... More

If you're looking for a dining experience rather than just dinner, this is a great choice. It's clear this is an Italian restaurant owned by Italians. The warm hospitality was reminiscent of our experiences in Italy. Rather than ordering from our menu, our server suggested the Chef's Choice based on how much we wanted to spend. What a novel approach.... More

Just had a splendid meal conjured up by Luigi. I believe we had what was described as the house table menu & Luigui just kept the plates coming! So choose from $15-$30/head and be surprised and delighted by what arrives. Washed down by a few bottles of Peroni and an expresso; you won't be disappointed.
