Yikes! I haven't had a meal this bad in forever! Started with an appetizer of one type of cured meat-ok, that's fine. The next course was an overdressed salad. After that there was pasta with olive oil, artichokes and scallops. If I didn't know better (and I don't), I would think the pasta was from the night before. The scallops... More

We ate here because of the reviews and because it was two doors down from the hotel we were staying in. The food was good, the atmosphere very nice, but we both felt a bit pressured to order a larger meal. That is the only thing that cost an upgrade from average to very good.

So the menu on line do not reflect the restaurant menu. We were done in after a funeral, and were happy to have the matire d' choose the three courses for the three of us (there was a $25 pre-fix 3 course). When we got the bill we were charged $40/pp. It was good, but we were taken, and honestly... More

I wanted Italian my only night in Seattle so my brother suggested Al Boccalino and we are all so glad he did. We had a large group (of 12) including kids. It is the only place I have ever eaten where I didn't look at a menu - we were asked how much $ did we want to spend per... More

Enjoyed a delicious meal here. It's a cozy, unpretentious little restaurant, tucked away on a quiet street. If you plan to eat after 6 pm, make reservations. The menu is simple and unfussy and they have a very nice winelist as well as a few cocktails on offer. Al Boccalino also offers a $25 a prix fixe menu, but we... More

Came for the cooking class they advertised at groupon. They said there's no more than 10 people in a class but there were 12 of us and there wasn't enough food prepared for us to eat.they could've increased the food they prepared for us to cook since the ingredients are not really that expensive. - the 36 dollars they advertised... You can customize the set price $25pp dinner menu - which is to upgrade from the house wine. Can ask for options at 30pp price point, and beyond - your choice. The food! Yum on pasta, bean soup really good (slightly over-salted), bruschetta flavors divine. The chicken with goat cheese was beyond what was expected. Will be back, happy to... More

Tucked away in a small corner of downtown Seattle you find Al Boccalino or little Italy as it has been deemed. After being seated we were greeted by the owner, a bubbly, friendly Italian man (who slightly resembles a grey Mario or luigi) who spent the evening going from table to table and making sure everyone was enjoying their experience.... I've gone to Al Boccalino on several occasions. Once for a fun evening cooking class, once with friends for a significant milestone birthday and several times just because I like a good Italian meal that is closer to what my Nonna served than the typical restaurant version of Italian food. The restaurant owner, Luigi, has been a fixture in Seattle... More

We went with a coupon from Groupon.. sounded good but that Menu were obviously the cheapest things on the menu, small portions AND the price for a second cafe of wine was HIGH for cheap stuff. FULL price menu and other customers plates looked MUCH better.. Entrees were pricey even then.. Check menu carefully and don't think it will be... More
