Must be good! A line at 6.45 am!

we got of the bus and were in need of coffee and strolled into this art decor joint. Awesome staff, great coffee and excellent food. Seattle started on its best foot. Music was also fantastic. We had a ham & cheese toastie and a salted caramel with our coffee. Delicious.

Great place to sip coffee in great atmosphere, yummy baked goods and watch the artsy world go by. Place looks historic and is renovated really well. Sit , sip and reflect what Zeitgeist means to you ...

My husband choose this place for morning coffee based on the name alone but said that this was the only time his expectations for coffee have been exceeded. The next day we stopped at a Starbucks based on need and proximity and his comment was

I was in Pioneer Square and felt a tad peckish. Stopped in at the Zeitgeist. Had tea and some cake. Both were good. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant and there was room for me to work.

The building is fantastic and the coffee is good but the food is pre-made and really uninspired. The eggs on the sandwich were spongy, cold and old. If they took their food more seriously the place could be great.

For the record, if you love coffee and live in Seattle, I will not find you at a Starbucks. With a cafe around every corner, there is no reason to drink mediocre espresso. Zeitgeist is not only great coffee, but transcends the basic into the authentic "Seattle Experience". First, the folks making espresso won't dish out a bunch of 'tude....always... More

I like the environment -- comfortable, with high ceilings and usually available seating. The service was once kind of catty but friendly other times. Good cookies; coffee was nice as well.

Quiet place. Easy to miss. But don't. Staff is friendly, art on the wall is local photographer today. An unabridged dictionary and a large globe welcome you as you enter. Well lit and above all, strong, smooth coffee. And salted caramels. A nice stop. Highly recommended. I wasn't hungry enough to order food, but the sandwiches looked great.

If you don't already have a favorite go-to Seattle coffee house (no, Starbucks doesn't count), Zeitgeist will fill the bill. Located a couple of blocks from the King Street train station on the corner of S. Jackson St. and 2nd Avenue, floor-to-ceiling windows wrap around the outer wall giving a nice view of the vehicle/foot traffic on both streets. The... More
