Hit and Miss Quality

We have eaten at Jak's many times over the years. We especially like the pork chops. When they're good, they're very, very good. Sometimes, though, they're not. The service is OK.

Wow....customer experience FAIL...Quarterly a set of friends (3) get together for drinks and maybe a few appetizers and we have traditionally met at Jak's. Yesterday we had an unreal experience where the hostess refused to seat us unless we ordered dinner. It was 5pm and they just opened. Their bar area is terrible and we only wanted to have a... More

Thank goodness for Jak's! After spending several weeks running our son down to the University of Washington for orientation, new Husky activities and marching band camp, dealing with traffic on Montlake, quick eats and exorbitant parking rates, it was nice to find a pleasant sit-down restaurant with free parking conveniently located to the U. Even better, it was wonderful finding... More

Jak's has great food and awesome service. I was alone and the server didn't hover or make me feel otherwise uncomfortable. They put me in a nice, out-of-the-way spot (not near the kitchen or server station), so I wasn't uncomfortable being alone. The crab stuffed halibut is so good, and a generous size. The decor is a little cigar loungish,... More

Seattle has some great steak houses - the Met Grill, Capital Grille, Ruth's Chris - all good, all very expensive, very noisy and not good for kids. All kind of a big deal - so we have Jaks, also very, very good, also very noisy, also very crowded but way, way more affordable and perfectly fine for kids. Way less... More

I am an utter addict to great prime rib and so, when in Seattle this week, instead of making my usual pilgrimage to Daniel's Broiler on Lake Union, I noted that Monday's were prime rib special nights at Jak's. Off I went with wife and two daughters. Of course I ordered the prime rib, while one daughter had a New... More

The meal was good. Server was wonderful. The baked potatoes were the largest we have ever seen! Large enough to share. Actually the whole meal was quite large and took 1/2 of it home.

We had one of the best steaks we've ever eaten at this steakhouse. We had the dry-aged ribeye topped with mushrooms, garlic, and a cream sauce. It was served with asparagus, a salad, and a baked potato. My husband and I shared this dish, and it was more than plenty for two. The steak was perfectly prepared, tender, and flavorful.

We eat here several times a year when we are visiting in the Seattle area. The food is always great. We have never had anything that wasn't above average and they have an extensive wine list. The staff is so friendly and bends over backwards to make your dining experience a great one. They have some gluten free options.

This was my second visit to jacks and I forgot just how much food There was to eat. I ordered the Skewers and was worried that I would have just a little half stake on a stick. Regardless I ordered it and was happy. As a table we had onion rings as an appetiser which where beautifully cooked with a... More
