Get their naan sandwiches

The other food on the menu is a bit on the pricy side, and is no better than many of the Indian food around the neighborhood, but their Naan sandwiches are very afforable and very good to eat. My favorite is the fish one with mango sauce.

We were surprised to find such a good restaurant as Shalimar among the many restaurants that cater to a college crowd near the University of Washington campus. The menu is extensive and the food inexpensive. Shalimar is the best Indian restaurant I've visited in the U.S. Or UK.

Very clean with top-notch service, had extensive menu that included vegetarian & vegan options. Our daughter who has travelled abroad said it was up there with the best!

FANTASTIC chicken briyani! This restaurant is delicious. It was kind of hard to find (probably from being from out of state) but the food was totally worth it. My husband felt right at home!

I love this place, right on the Ave in the U District. The food is consistently good, the price is right, and the staff is wonderful. One night we were there with my sister-in-law when we discovered that she did not like spicy food. The owner promised a mild meal but noticed that she wasn't eating it and insisted on... More

If you are tired of "normal" mediocre food being passed off as "India" or "Pakistani" and you would like to eat at a really fine restaurant, then Shalimar is it. The service is a little slow but the food is outstanding and the price is not bad. Chef Wasif takes pride in his cooking and rightly so, I don't believe... More

This was the most appealing restaurant on University Ave. And the food was really delicious. Took my study week class mates there on our first lunch. And I went back another day again. Friendly service and very affordable food. I had curries every time I was there. The have a huge variety.

We were in Seattle for testing and surgery at UW, and I regret that I could only eat at Shalimar once. It has one of the most authentic yet original Indian menus I have ever seen. The ambience is lovely, making a great combination with excellent food at good prices. I wish I could eat there all the time.

We eat a lot of Indian food and found this place while wandering in the University District. Great (huge) naan, friendly employees. Nice variety.

My son took my husband and me to Shalimar's so we could taste "authentic" Indian food. He doesn't like the thought that I eat Trader Joe's frozen offerings and actually think they are good - which they are! He ordered for us - Chicken Tikka Masal (my personal favorite!); Chicken Curry; and Chicken Saag, along with naan - a bit... More
