Best for Breakfast, but not for dinner

We had been to Julia's for breakfast several times and it was lively and fun. On our first stop for dinner it was mostly deserted and the menu was pretty pedestrian with normal sandwiches. The service was just fine as we were just about the only people there at about 7 p.m.

We went for breakfast and the four of us had great service and well-prepared food. The atmosphere is nice in a quiet neighborhood area.

Business took me to the Wallingford district in August for the first time in many years. Afterward, I was hungry so stopped at Julia's on Wallingford, a place I'd thoroughly enjoyed many times, but not for several years. Gee whiz, was that a mistake. The food was very good as it used to be. The service, however, has dropped in... More

Julia's is close-by to where we live during our long annual stays in Seattle so we stop by occasionally for casual dining. The eclectic menu includes soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and basic entrees. Breakfast items range from eggs to pancakes. The food has been mediocre to excellent during our visits, with my husband having much better luck than I've had.... More

It was a hot Seattle day and I had called to see if they had air conditioning. The woman who answered told me "no, but we have lots of windows open." I met my friend for dinner here and when we entered, only a couple of windows were open. It was quite warm. After being seated, I asked if we... More

Unfortunately, this place did not live up to our expectations. The coffee was decent, but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered an omelette with spinach and onions and received almost raw onions and sautéed spinach with a thin layer of fried eggs on top. Did not realize the definition of omelette has changed this dramatically... Unless it dramatically... More

this used to be one of the premier breakfast places in seattle. now? it's just another place. the service this morning was especially slow. the fruit seemed old and smelled old. the food was decent, but nothing special. it's close to home, but we're going to have to search for some other place. on the plus side???? the espresso shop... When I was in graduate school 25 years ago, breakfast at Julia's was a week-end ritual and we went back for a blast from the past. Sadly, things seem to have deteriorated a bit. The food was still pretty tasty, although the Huevos rancheros would have benefitted from a bit of salsa on the side and the Socrates omelet lacked... More

we were staying close by at a home booked through airbnb, and came in for an early breakfast before a long day out and about. it was quiet, no specials board up yet, but pleasantly greeted and seated. our server was efficient and cheerful, two nice qualities in wait staff. we had a simple breakfast which was tasty and served... my friend loves this place and wanted to introduce me to the food and we both met up for brunch here. we both have dogs so we sat outside and with our furry best friends on a Saturday morning. the place was busy and there was a large crowd inside dining. it took awhile for our server and busser to...
