We thought it was lost for good. Happily, now rescued by new owners but with the old staff and recipes. The fabulous Cuban sandwich is ours again! And they even take plastic now (welcome to the 21st C.). Well worth trekking up north of Fremont for an unforgettable lunch experience.

On my way there today and discovered that they have closed both locations due to legal troubles. Extremely disappointed that the owner did not only cheat his workers but he also cheated Seattle of it's finest sandwich.

This is authentic Caribbean food- the real deal- generous plates of food - big sandwiches of pork , chicken, fish and even an onion obsession -black beans, rice, tofu - all you would ever expect from a true Caribbean meal.

Paseo's makes great sandwiches, my favorite is the sauteed prawn sandwich. To avoid the long wait, I usually call in my order when I leave my house and it's ready when I get there. It takes a few tries to get though because they are so busy. There aren't many places to sit so I usually walk around the corner... More

Prior to visiting Seattle I watched a show with John Goodman reviewing Americas top 10 sandwiches and Paseo's Caribbean Roast was featured. The show warned to show up early in order to make sure you get a taste of the limited daily supply. My girlfriend and I showed up 40 minutes prior to wanting lunch - it was a good... More

I’m driving down Seaview Avenue in Ballard and I don’t see a soul. Then I turn a corner and see a phalanx of people milling around a hole-in-the-wall food shack. What hutzpah, I thought, this place doesn’t have a sign. I order the “most popular” item on the menu, the Caribbean Roast sandwich, featuring long strips of pork marinated in... More

The cuban pork sandwich was very good. I went on a friend's suggestion, but had to scramble to an ATM upon learning they only take cash. When you're in demand you can do silly things like not take a credit card, so that's my only complaint. There was nowhere to sit, but again, the food was good, so I didn't... More

The line can be long but it moves quickly and if you are willing to wait, you will be rewarded. There are quite a few options however I've always enjoyed the Cuban. I just wish they were open all year round (closed during the winter) as its hard to pass this place up for a quick and extremely delicious bite.

I had the chicken breast sandwich, my son had the smokin' thigh sandwich, and my wife had the most popular pulled pork sandwich. Fantastic. The baguette type of rolls are bigger than others, and very good. All the food was great. Seating is outdoor only, picnic style, bees and all. Not a problem though. Definitely going back!

When we first moved to Seattle, we asked the locals what the best restaurants in town were, and Paseo came up over and over again. This is probably one of Seattle's best kept "secrets" in the sense that all the locals rave about it, but tourists rarely hear about it because it isn't in the downtown area. There are two... More
