Nice lunch special if you are in the area

I come to Le Fournil every time I am in town, always hoping to be impressed by the French pastries. Sadly, I never am. However, I always enjoy their lunch special which I think is a really decent meal for $8.99. It includes a nice big sandwich or salad or quiche with a 12 oz drink and a dessert... read more

Love the chocolate tart. Ordered it twice for birthday celebrations! The chocolate eclair is delicious too.

We tried this place 8AM on a Saturday morning and it was overflowing with local residents.... A sure sign it has excellent quality and service. I must concur this establishment is among the best anywhere in the world for pastries and coffee. I have eaten croissants in Italy and in France and they are equally as fresh and tasty here.... Um, this was a major letdown. The pastries (almond croissant and pain au chocolat) are not good. They are very doh-y and not light at all. My friend and I were there for lunch after having traveled to France and it wasn't really possible to compare the pastries to those you can get anywhere in France. The salad, on the... More

Nicholas Pare is a god in the flour world! His little bakery makes and supplies Seattle with some of the best French delicacies this side of the Atlantic. They must be eaten to understand how incredible his bread, pastries, sandwiches and other fare are, as words alone don't do them any justice.

Living in Seattle, I am an admitted coffee snob. Being a foodie, I also like great pastries. Especially French. But it's relatively difficult to find a place that does both truly well. Le Fournil is just such a place. Espresso drinks are done by a dedicated barista with some nice dense foam and foam art on top. They use Cafe... More

This spot is a little tricky to find. The pastries are good, but definitely not the best in Seattle.

In the early mornings when they are baking the entire block smells like overwhelming fresh baked deliciousness. I love this place! The croissants (all dozen varieties of them) are absolutely amazing. My favorite is Almond... simply fantastic. All of the tarts are also pretty amazing. And the quiches!! Try the lunch special: fresh sandwich on croissant/baguette or a quiche/salad with... More
