Delicious!!

Arrived on Sunday at 4:30 and was able to walk right in. Tried a few fresh oysters and they were amazing, my favorite was the wildcat. The roasted pineapple gingerale hit the spot, just a hint of sweetness. I also ordered the fried oysters, but didn't care too much for them. The texture of cooked... read more

First the location is "cool" but hard to find and even harder to find once you find it. (go and you'll know what I mean) The food was very good but in small portion and high price. The oysters were excellent. The cheese plate; don't bother with it. Its a loud, small, crowded atmosphere but very clean and well lit.... More

Opens at 4:00pm, we arrived at 4:45 and had a 45 minute wait and it was well worth it. Multiple selections of oysters and cheeses. It loud and fun, but not a place for a quiet romantic dinner. You won't be disappointed!

Over rated. Pricy. Pretentious. Lousy service. And Guys you don't know how to serve the champagne. And what about the half filled glasses of wine? The glasses should be 15 cl at least not less!!! Way too noisy. The music was loud and tasteless. There was one song that I liked but the waiter jumped on the command to change... More

We read the reviews saying how crowded it was. Called the night before and confirmed they don't take reservations. We went at 5:00 on a Friday to beat the crowd even though we don't usually eat until 7:00 or 8:00 and were seated immediately. Even when we left at 6:30 there were still empty seats. On a beautiful Friday evening... More

This place was recommended to us by every person we talked to before our trip and every local during our trip. I now know why. The food was absolutely stellar. The oysters were as fresh and delicious as I've ever had. The salmon "gravlax" - a twist on the classic- was incredible. Our server, Dana, was a total joy. She... More

Came here to try the oysters. Had 20 of them and they were all amazing although I really loved the sea cows. But then also had the steak tartar, salmon crudo, scallop crudo, grilled sardines and the fried oysters. While all of the raw oysters were greate, the fried oysters were the real treat, crispy on the outside and soft... More

They sure stuff them in, even on a monday evening. Unfortunately, the sardines on the plate are not packed in so much -- ie the dishes are pretty small despite being moderately to high priced. To fill oneself up on these small dishes can cost quite a bit but maybe a fun place to grab appetizers before going elsewhere for... More

Soooooo good! The fried oysters were so good that we ordered another plate before dessert. The service was also wonderful.

Walrus deserves every bit of the national press it has accumulated. It is a quintessentially Ballard and Seattle experience from the location in the back of the characteristic Kolstand Mfg building on what is still a working section of lower Ballard avenue (and facing the working waterfront across Shilshole Ave.) to the selection of uber fresh and interesting NW oysters...
