Oysters are great, but try the seasonal dishes as well.

We arrived at 3:50 as recommended and we were glad we did. The line was already long and we barely got a seat before it filled up. We sat at the oyster bar and were very happy with that. We were able to watch the preparation of the dishes from there. Oysters were great, but my favorite was a... read more

Had 8 varieties of Oysters the night I was there! The Oysters were just absolutely amazing. Sat right at the bar. Got in early at 6pm because I knew it would get packed. Great sitting at the bar talking to the guys shucking and being able to see the entire "kitchen" work. Oysters sit in ice in baskets as the... More

Okay, I'm not much of a shellfish person and this restaurant came highly recommended, but I tried it nevertheless. I do eat sushi, but, still, approached this dining experience with much trepidation. My son wanted to treat my wife and I for helping him move some stuff to Seattle, so we went along with it. Fair warning: the entire menu... More

We ordered four of each of the four types they were offering. So fresh and tasty. And the bread! Delish! Add a couple of beers and you've got a great meal. Only drawback is the price. $3.50 for each oyster is pricey. Luckily we were there during Happy Hour and got a 20% discount.

Cool place and great food. We got lucky and didn't have a long wait but if we had I'd still give this place a great review! Oysters were great and the fried oysters even better! We enjoyed all the dishes. Expensive for tapas but you won't be disappointed.

A visit to the Walrus and The Carpenter turned a typical day into a memorable one. We've heard so much about this place and it lived up to its hype. The friendly wait staff and congenial guests could easily make this a "go to" place--and then add in the artfully and tastefully created small-plate offerings--couldn't ask for much more. We'll... Omg, I've died and gone to oyster heaven. I don't know if the owner of this restaurant has a direct line to oyster gods, but it is seriously some good oysters. Best oysters I've had in a long time. We were in line at 3:45 on Thursday and we were the third group in line. By the time the restaurant... More

We were given a gift certificate to this restaurant. I do NOT like oysters or clams. I was going because my husband does like both. I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the fried oysters with cilantro aoli.... VERY good!! ( And I do not like oysters!!) The salad with zucchini, potato and pistachios was AMAZING.... as was the bread and... More

The Walrus and the Carpenter is certainly one of the greatest places to enjoy oysters in Seattle, and the entire country. It easily rivals April Bloomfield's John Dory Oyster Bar in NYC. The oyster selection is excellent, listed in order of brininess, an interesting concept. We tried 6 of the 8 varieties, all delicious. We also enjoyed the fried oysters,... More

I had heard amazing things about Walrus and the Carpenter. I tried to go around 8pm on a Thursday evening, but wasn't able to be seated. I tried again the next evening, arriving at 7pm and being seated by 8:30pm. As I had oysters at another place while waiting to be seated, I didn't try any of the oysters here.... More
