I'm new to eating oysters for dinner and have fallen in love since visiting The Walrus and The Carpenter. Amazing food, great service, and a fabulous wine list to boot! It's definitely worth they wait and you're sure to leave with a smile on your face.

My friends and I wanted to eat at this restaurant, so we put our name with the waitress, and then a seat became available so we got a couple drinks and looked at the menu. But, there was a different name on it... it said "Chippy's Fish and Chips." After we lost our spot in line we came to realize... More

Two years ago when we first started planning our trip to Seattle, I encountered a Bon Appetite article about Seattle restaurants. This one caught my eye. I ripped out the article and have save it ever since. They don't take reservations, so expect a wait, but they accommodated a party of 6 in 45 minutes (drinks at a nearby bar... More

I'd read many good things about this restaurant, so it was on my short list of the many places I wanted to try on this short trip. Unfortunately no reservations, but we arrived and put our name on the list and were told it could be 1-1 1/2 hours. Ballard is crammed with drinking spots, so we headed to Chippy's... More

My cousin and I (we're Asian) arrived for dinner and told the hostess we would like a table for 3 and was waiting for my husband who would arrive in 10 minutes. She told us they have a policy of sitting parties that are complete and we would have to wait until everyone arrives. Okay fine--so we waited. Then, a... More

We loved this restaurant! Wonderful fresh food straight from the Pacific NW. The menu changes weekly (I believe) so you are getting what is good and fresh. The atmosphere is a mixture of French coastal cafe with Seattle urban vibe. The place is popular and you may have a wait but that's okay, the bar next door, The Barnalce, (but... More

Love this place. Go early. Gets crowded and parking a challenge but worth what ever you need to do to get there.

This restaurant is absolutely worth the wait! I have been to this restaurant many times and every time I'm more and more impressed with the food and the creativity of the chefs. I would absolutely encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and try something new!

A diamond in the rough- from the moment you walk in the door, you know you are in store for something special. The oysters are fresh and delicious and the smoked trout is a must! Amazing service and wine pairing as well.

We decided that our last night in Seattle was going to be a progressive dinner in five or so restaurants and bars starting at 5:00pm. We planned on The Walrus and the Carpenter for around 7:00pm and were warned..."the wait should be around 2 hours at that time and they don't take reservations!" Just as we missed the "Rain Festival"... More
