SECOND VISIT First time for lunch, this time for dinner

This is one of three restaurants owed by Maria Hines. So far this is the only one we have tried. It is advertised as "Certified Organic Mediterranean Cuisine" We arrived at about 6:30 on a Saturday and found the place almost empty, but by 7:15 it was packed, so go early. This small gem of a restaurant features excellent Mediterranean cuisine. There is a nice variety of appetizers, small plates, and entrees to select from. There are dishes with meat and without; dishes for vegans and those on a gluten free diet. The food is delicious from organic ingredients.

Nice atmosphere and good food. The best thing we had was the chickpeas with lemon stew. The flat bread was wonderful. Our waitress, Rebecca, was very attentive and good.

I love this restaurant for a few reasons: the food is organic, so you know you are getting the best quality: the menu is divided into sections including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. As a vegetarian, I am always searching for more than one option on a menu that I can eat, and they have loads of choices.Lots of small plate... More

Our family of five decided that one of our favorite restaurants would be a great escape for thanksgiving dinner. While some aspects were lovely as usual, there were definitely some issues. Lack of gravy for the turkey, for example. All in all it was too expensive for what we received. Lesson learned.

We have finally stopped mourning the demise of the lovely Market Street Grill in this space, skipped over the ill- fated pizza place that replaced it and have now pretty much embraced the Golden Beetle. Like all the restaurants in this group, food is certified organic. Nice but not really why I visit a bar for a couple of drinks... More

Golden Beetle is a delightful spot that has absolutely delicious food, a warm environment and excellent service. It's also out of the fray of the rest of Ballard so you can actually have a relaxing meal. Seriously, what more could you want?I highly recommend the olive appetizer - I swear these are the best olives I've ever had in my... More

The Golden Beetle in the Ballard area of Seattle is an innovative take on Meditteranean favorites. The trio of dips which include flatbread, babaghanoush, green harissa hummus and muhammara is a definite must. The dip portions look small but two of us, with hearty appetites, could not finish the appetizer. Another must are the Za'atar spiced french fries fried in... More

The food was excellent and we loved the unexpected variety of flavors. My friend loved the lamb pizza even though she doesn't like olives. The cauliflower salad was also a favorite.

Golden Beetle just might be the best Mediterranean food I've ever enjoyed. The fava bean falafel is perfect: crispy, spicy and delicious. The Duqqah is delightful and the pita bread exquisite. I've been five times in two weeks, so you can be sure I'll be returning. Again and again. Try the Willie's Greens with sea beans and cucumbers. Yummy!
