Plethora of wonderful flavors

Visiting the area... tried this per tripadvisor reviews and was NOT disappointed! I love good authentic Greek food. Sweet unpretentious service, from a very kind gentleman (Greek? owner?). Wonderful cozy place you must try! The baklava is homemade and wonderful.

I have to say, I knew nothing about Greek food when I went there. The owner and his wife put an end to my ignorance in a thorough and friendly fashion. I went with a friend and it was very easy to simply allow for chef's choice. We sampled several types of Greek wine and dined on olives, cheers and... More

Needed a place to eat after going to the locks in Ballard. Decided Greek would be "safe"-we were VERY happy to have stumbled onto this charming restaurant. Obviously, a family restaurant where a lot of locals go. However, we were made very welcome and really enjoyed the meal. Reasonable prices-everything was very good. Just let your server recommend something-I can't... More

I've been here 5 times now in the past year. Great service every time and fairly certain many of them are family members. Cozy greek feel with lots of pictures of friends and family. Relatively convenient parking depending on the day of the week. They have a nice wine selection (including retsina), then yummy breads and spreads come with the... More

A Greek restaurant in Ballard, 10-15 minutes drive from downtown. We arrived with sheer coincidence, the last ones to appear, after 8 PM. Oraniya, the daughter, looked at us, took us to our table, talked with us, and we fell in love. The Avgolomeno soup arrived simmering, hot with enough lemon to bring tears to our eyes; the Octopido (I... More

We love the small, family atmosphere of this authentic Greek restaurant in the Ballard district. The owner greeted us at the door and helped us with our wine selections. His daughter Mia was our server. We ordered the smaller size dishes so we could sample about 5 different dishes. Everything was delicious! Father and daughter made us feel right at... More

No matter who greets us, the service is uniformly open and attentive. Whether for lunch or dinner, it's always been a great experience. We enjoy not only the food and wine (nice, wide selection) but the atmosphere and decor - you can easily feel you're in Greece when dining here.

Plaka Estiatorio manages to be both Elegant and Casual at the same time. I have celebrated special occasions with large numbers of people and as a couple with my wife. I have found it to be whatever the occasion demanded of it. The cuisine is very Greek with an American bend to it. Sea food and specialties of the house... More

I have been traveling to Greece since 1983. The food at Plaka is the best...in fact better than a lot of restaurants in Greece. We feel like we are in Greece when we are at Plaka. It is a family owned and run establishment where many Greeks go to enjoy the atmosphere and a great meal. We have gone numerous... More

Just to echo what others have written here, Plaka is where I go in Seattle for fresh, hot, authentic Greek food. Plaka will make you forget you are in the heart of historic Ballard and transport you Athens (without the expense of a plane ticket). Looking to impress a date who loves Mediterranean food without breaking the bank? Bring her... More
