We booked a ridiculously early table and only a few others were seated when we arrived. On a previous visit we'd had to stand in line for ages and hurry through our dinner. This time, no sweat; we had time for drinks, appetizers (my lightly curried carrot soup was a triumph), mains (excellent medium- rare tenderloin, and a tender tasty... More

I have been at Prelude several times, food is never the best for the value, but this time 2nd Wed Of Rigoletto my meal was just not what I expected- I ordered the pasta with sausage and it was dry, and just not connected, and my guess had the samosas , and they were also not good, with a sauce... I must give credit to the chef of Prelude at McCaw Hall for now I actually prefer my dinners there to Toulouse Petit that used to be my #1 destination for a pre-show dinner. Alas, Toulouse Petit is not what it used to be but luckily there is Prelude now! The food is delicious, the presentations is elegant, the wine... More

We had the meat tray and a cheese tray and wedge salad. I enjoyed the cheese & salad. The meat tray I wouldn't order again. The selection is limited servings are ok.

This restaurant is inside the opera house and is geared up to serve a large number of patrons prior to performances. The food is not exactly gourmet quality, but it is perfectly acceptable for a quick dinner before the opera, ballet, or symphony. Service is generally very efficient (but occasionally a little spotty), you will finish in good time before... More

This place has almost a monopoly on patrons of the opera since it is on the premises and can get you to the show within 45 minutes. Most of the food is quite good, especially the steaks and the chicken. Desserts are excellent and first courses good. The problem is that you had better like your steak and fish rare... More

We chose to try Prelude on Mother's Day before our opera. The food was adequate, not stellar as the price would indicate. The seating is very tight, tables WAYYYYY too close together. But, it was a way to avoid the Mother's Day crowds everywhere else, we'll do something different next time.

The environment was enjoyable and the proximity to the Hall is exquisite but the food was sadly adequate. The chicken was oily and the halibut was fatty/oily as well (which is hard to do.). We were not the only one to note such as we overheard two separate tables complain of the chicken. The waitress was extremely pleasant and knew... More

We went there last night and the food is horrible, overpriced for sure, not even warm, service not great or even good considering what you pay- I understand the food servd has to be ready fast due to customer's plan for the evening but still semi warm food! I had seafood Stew and the quality of food is very poor.... More

It's convenient if you are there for the opera. Service was good but food is just ok. Little overpriced for what you are getting. Parts of the dish is great then you have something that just throws it off. I had a duck confit salad that was wonderful minus the duck. The duck was so salty that I had a... More
