Where I go

I live and work in Skagway, and get asked often by visitors where to dine. Unless they are looking for something in particular, I'll suggest the Northern Lights. It has something for everybody - pizza, pasta, greek, salads, Chinese, fish - and what I can tell from my samplings it's all done well... read more

I had a house salad of mixed greens, olives, red peppers and onions, with added halibut. The honey mustard dressing went well with that to make a filling meal. My wife had the halibut fish and chips which was also excellent tasting. No drinks but water and the bill was almost $40. Pretty standard it seems, but everything has been... More

We went here for lunch and got the spaghetti and a beef burrito. The spaghetti was bland and greasy but at least edible. The beef burrito was a sloppy salty mess. I like salt and could not even stomach 3 bites of this dish. I told our server i couldn't eat it and he offered me something else, which I... More

We found the food to be very good. My daughter, age 12, still talks about this pizza, almost a year after our trip. She says it's the best she's ever had.

OK, so if you are looking for authentic Greek, Mexican, Seafood, Italian food, this is the place. Run by long term local family that lives in Skagway in the summer. Atmosphere is ok, mostly clean and good, but always too much pepper on the food. Accommodates larger groups - like up to a dozen. The owners try.

Service was prompt and the fish and chips was excellent. Food a bit pricey, but that is expected in Alaska. Would definitely recommend.

If you want a great meal at a reasonable price without 4000 cruise ship guests yelling at servers because their ice cream is too cold or their toothpick is too sharp then this is the place. We visited here three or four times during our summer in Alaska and always had a great lunch! The service is very quick, food... More
