Still the same - still just as good

Unusually the place was not crowded and we sat alone and watched our food being prepared for us - maybe we got a little extra rice this way!!! It meant that we could tell the "chef" to do away with the trick since we had seen them a million times before - concentrate on cooking our dinner and we'll... read more

While the food here is really not that bad, in fact, the raw fish was really very good, it just isn't worth it. The oddest part of the place, and really did Hamada in for us was that the cooking crew pushed their carts through the restaurant honking the little toy horns you would hear in a circus. All the... Tucked away in the Kroger shopping center this place has been the only Japanese grill that we return to. Have tried others but this always comes out on top. Not phased by the "show" any more but still love the food. If you're in the mood for sushi - they have a good selection too.

My friend was celebrating her birthday and invited many of us to come. Arrived on a Saturday night and was welcomed well at the door. There were 2 tables each with their own teppanyaki. I ordered the salmon which came with rice, mixed vegetables, and ice cream. It also came with soup and a side salad. The chef put on... More

My wife and I dined here because we were in the area. We were seated immediately. The tiled aisle ways were slick as if they were mopped with grease. Coming in from the rain, we had to be quite careful not to slip and fall. At our table, we noticed the cleanliness of the restaurant was less than desirable. The... More

While the prices are a solid $10 less than comparable meals at the more well-known chains, and the quality and taste are a bit better (IMO) the place just has a rather chaotic feel to it at times. We had a great chef and all, but to the side of our table were what seemed to be all the staff... More

I am a "local" to this area, and this used to be one of our favorite places. However, I have watched this place start going downhill over the past year. Tonight, we brought some friends here for the first time, and they were as disappointed as we were. The problem isn't the food or the chefs... all of that is... More

Leaving the restaurant right now. Came here for my wife birthday during the week. The place was dead which is fine, but they kept milking the clock to wait and see if more people would come. We ordered sushi and it was overpriced and mediocre at best. Another two guys came in asking about the dollar sushi on their website... More

Amazing sushi! If you're in a hurry it may not be the best place, but the food is great!

Hamada is a great place and an excellent value when compared to the "trendier" hibachi style places. Sure it may be a little outdated inside, but the food is great and much cheaper than any other Japanese steakhouse we've been to. We've been customers for years here, and we've always been treated right, so you will not be disappointed here.
