Dining at Chinook's was a highlight of my family's trip to Seward. It was hard to say what was better: the food, the service, or the view from their massive ceiling to floor windows. There is also a second story and it was worth the wait to get a seat upstairs. Since the restaurant is directly over the harbor, we... more
i've had the chance to eat at chinooks multiple times and greatly enjoyed it every time! The service is fast, servers friendly and their seafood is amazing! You can also get a good view of the harbor from almost any table in the restaurant. If you're visiting seward and want to have a reasonably priced delicious alaskan meal this would... more
We ate here one of our 3 nights in Seward. The food was solidly good though if you only have 1 night, Rays is a little better. Nice view of the harbour if you can get a table by the window. The TV with the non stop infomercial about an Alaska video for sale gets a bot obnoxious after awhile. more
I ordered the crab at $37/plate. The crab was cold, overcooked, and tasteless. Lots of fried fish on the menu. Don't bother with this place - a meal for 2 was over $80 - go down the street to Ray's! more
The crab legs were $37 for 1.5 pounds or $8 if ordered with another entree. The crab legs were soggy and wouldn't crack. The fried halibut was fine but nothing special. The service was adequate; again, nothing special. The next night we went to Ray's for a MUCH better meal. more
One of our stops was in Seward. We were there for four days so got to experience most of the restaurants. Good pizza at Apollos down town, good coffee and goodies at the Ranting Raven but then we wanted to try the two 'nicer' restaurants in town both located in the Small Boat Harbor, Ray's and Chinooks. We tried Rays... more
We are a party of six who were recommended to eat here. We had a beautiful view of the harbor from our table. THe server was absolutely delightful. She offered us seperate checks before we asked. The service was prompt and professional. The food was the best we had on our trip. To top it off, the bill was not... more
Overall I prefer Ray's when it comes to the choice between the two (they're right next to each other in the harbor) but Chinook's is pretty decent. The service is good, the food is good, the view is great. more
I ordered a wine I know and when they brought it, it was a second label (first label price), so I sent it back, and ordered another. Same thing. I cancelled my dinner order and went next door to Rays, figuring if the wines were second label, so would the food. I hate people trying to rip me off. more
