Excellent Breakfast in a Historical Hotel

My father and I ate breakfast in Mrs Genes on our final day in Seward. Mrs Genes is located in the charming historic Seward hotel, which hints of Victorian influence. I had the crab omelet and my father had the Denver omelet. Both omelets were 3 egg omelets full of their respective... read more

The chef left so there was no dinner service. The bar area was nice though small. It looked like a quaint old hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel Seward and decided to try this for breakfast. Hoping for a view of the bay, we were instead put in a converted bedroom area that was decorated with Christmas complete with a snow video. Room was tacky. Not what you would expect for a historic hotel. Food was average. Any conversation could be heard since... More

We enjoyed a reasonable priced breakast that was delicious! The Belgian waffle was done just right. My husbad had the omelet with dungeness crab. He's still raving about it! It's attached to Hotel Seward. They have a front section and 3 sections in the back we didn't even see. Because of that, it sometimes takes the server a bit of... More

There is good food but I feel like the portions are 1/8 too big. Plus, fence off the radiator. It is a singe and burn hazard!

...but no dinner until further notice, as they just lost their chef. Breakfasts here, starting at 5:30 AM, were wonderful. The young woman who waited on us each morning was fantastic, as friendly and efficient as can be. Wish we could have tried dinner, as reviews were great on TripAdvisor.

Wow - this was a memorable experience for the worst reasons. We were one of two tables seated for breakfast and it took us almost 90 minutes start to finish. Enjoyed our $3.00 cup of coffee after a 20 minute wait. Waitress was nice and helpful, but it was clear that the restaurant had some staffing issues. After we waited... More

This is a tiny little 4 table place in the bar of the Hotel Seward. Looks like nothing, but the food is absolutely spectacular. The Hotel itself is quirky and kitschy with tons of taxidermy and historical artifacts and photos. We stayed 2 nights and loved it. The restaurant had really great service and delicious food. A tiny bit pricey,... More

Tiny little restaurant located in the Hotel Seward. We ate breakfast there and it was tasty and fresh. Pricey, but I guess that was to be expected. The young lady working as wait staff that day was sweet and friendly offering advice on must see and do's. My husband got the crab meat omelet and said it was quite unique.... More
