Great food but pricey

Nice atmosphere and great food. But, pretty pricey. Beautiful presentation. Sushi was very good quality. Staff are very nice. Have allergies and they were accommodating. They also have gluten free tamari soy.

Small place that fills up quickly at dinner time, Sushi Shiono has a wide variety even for non-sushi diners. Go early or make reservations.

For the quality of sushi the 3 of us had, I felt the price was too high - spending over $100 for a sushi combination plate and 2 orders of rolls plus a bottle of Asahi beer and a guava juice. For that price elsewhere I could have had a more elaborate meal.

What a treat. Just off the main drag. Food was to die for. Nice servers. I had a package dinner and for about $35 it was plenty of food.

went this time for my wife's birthday. This is primarily a sushi place, so that needs to be what u had in mind. We had the Omakase which requires u sit at sushi bar and get to know ur chef. It was stunning! Almost Kaiseki like. Miso loaded w little neck clams and tofu, Uni as fresh as I have... More

this is primarily a sushi place, although they do offer a more extensive menu with more traditional Japanese fare. We ordered the mackerel, which comes with soup, salad and rice. Luckily the fish is oily and somewhat flavorful. Otherwise this would have been like eating at a zen monastery....very little flavor or flavorful accompaniments. Also tried the soft shell crab... Had the hamachi, ahi, and the roll with macadamia nuts. Best sushi I've ever had. Fresh, great selection, great service. Go here now.

This place was recommended by one of the shop owners up the street. You've got to watch for it since it tucked in 2 stores from the sidewalk (it's a short walk south from Uncle Billy's Kona Bay Hotel). It was a little on the pricey side but some of the better sushi that I've had (live in Bay Area,... More

i thought he food was great but we found reservations essential. The price didn't seem high to me but I live in an expensive area so everything is relative.

Of the places I ate sushi in Hawai'i, this place had the freshest. Pricey but worth the price. Having said that, the miso soup was tasteless, as though all the miso had sunk to the bottom and not stirred. The tea was also not up to the standards of a good sushi restaurant at all. So the sushi chefs are... More
